It’s been years since I’ve played anything by Angel Alanis. His early stuff was always edgy, cutting and above all driving. But now we have a complete shock to the system with this latest dance floor destroying remix of what is a much more minimal affair by Robin Renwick entitled ‘Rumbla’. This is clever stuff indeed with a neck-snapping second beat clap sound and some whacked out and tight sound stabs. But the icing on the cake comes in the form of a sound that just keeps on rising until you feel your ears quite literally falling off their hinges. Great stuff. 4.5/5 MARK EG
