ableton midi sync

hey

anybody tried syncin ableton live 3 with an mpc using the mpc as the
master?

it works, but its never completely in time, keeps fluctuating up and down making recording and using the mpc and ableton at the same time impossible.

runnin a g3 800 ibook OSX, firewire audiophile witha mpc1000...

gonna format the ibook tonight as last resort

any help would be appreciated

i sync my 909 to ableton all the time

but i don't use the 909 as the master, i figure my laptop's timing has to be tighter than a drummachine from 1984.

but you need very very low latency if you don't want it to drift, between 0-3ms.

doubt it , my 909 was allways rock solid , in fact any drum machine i have used has allways had a steadier clock than any computer bizzness
