View Full Version : Diffrent genres of Hard Trance
When ever I want decent Hard Trance lately I have to shop ooop noooooooooorth.
'Cos when I go to London ya see record stores with hard trance which ALWAYS ends being Hard Dance sort of stuff.
Do ya reckon the South and the Norths views on Hard Trance is diffrent?
im from ilfracombe (south west) and when i thinck of hard trance, i thinck of labels like overdose, pulse, planet traxx, drizzly, fog area, cases,
not data,m.o.s,serious etc hard trance to me will always be underground
ive also noticed that labels like nukluez + tidy now come under hard dance
im not impressed but then again i am from devon
D'ya reckon its just a London thing then?

i think it does depend where ya shop but i think a big factor is the dude/dudess behind the counter.. for example if the shops staff are well into drum and bass or techno and dont have much knowlegde of trance and hard dance etc... its pretty confusing... hard house is hard dance to some people and hard trance is hard dance to somepeople and then theres all the trance sub generes , uplifting , progressive , german , italian , swiss... i think if you go to a trance speacialist you`ll get proper sections and no hard dance in ya hard trance! ;) ...
someone wise once said that talkng about music is like dancing about archetecture!! :!:
i think bigga records in plymouth have it spot on, they dont know much about trance + techno bein hip hop n dnb specialists (cant beat a bit of dnb) but the trance + techno they do get in -a ltho a small amount is legendary and i alwasy buy something

the only thing i really notice is that i find alot of music i would consider as club trance on the hardtrance shelves.

You wanna see wot its like in Wales, proper shite....
Its mostly hardstyle, and the hard trance/house/dance cross over kinda stuff...
Its the same with DJs, Also u never see Ben Eye,Jon The Baptist,Iain Cross,Simon Pitt,Soundfixation,Wragg,Abyss,Hashimi etc.. at ANY nights in Wales, the only hard uplifting DJs are the likes of NIck kid {occasionaly at bionic} myself, McBunn, and Brian M who IS the actual bionic promoter...

I think Chunes is a stormer of a shop, i cant get down there much but when i do i come back with a shit load of quality Techno!!!
Reform in Exeter is getting there..... they do sell almost every genre and they do get some nice promos if you get there at the time and day..
