these mp3s went [here (http://www.soundhead.hu/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=2 )].

now, if only i had a photo of the setup. two very battered decks in scratching orientation and a dodgy old mixer in a coffin case. completely wrongly set up arms and carts and two unsuable needles that were eventually sorted out after a lot of agro. then there was the third deck wobbling around on an inflatable behind the others (!) which i had to move to a slightly less wobbly bar-table on the right of the mixer. and all of this was on a stage full of bouncing hungarians :-)

oh, wait a sec, i do... [here (http://download.soundhead.hu/pic/shockwave200404/dsc03847.jpg)] and [here (http://download.soundhead.hu/pic/shockwave200404/dsc03907.jpg)] ...happy days :-)

He's absolutely right to justify himself...

It's bad enough when you're playing and you're having technical problems, at least the punters can get an idea that the **** ups aren't down to you if they can see you struggling with a shit set up.

Much worse if there's an mp3 knocking about which comes with no disclaimer.

A bad set up can ruin you're night and the set up in those pics certainly looks like a very bad one.

I can never understand how promoters can go to the effort of putting a night on, spending time on the promotion, booking djs (even worse when its from overseas) and then completely neglect to provide a decent set up. :dontevengothere:

cause they dont spin?

not in this case which is what frustrated me. perhaps it's more to do with different priorities

good to see Sam_Horam jump in there.

it was less of a justification but more of a heads up to the kind of joke setups around. i was fuming (for me) at the time but it's (almost) funny now to hear this MP3 as i can remember exactly what was going on.

one deck with a broken arm/cart/needle, one deck with dodgy pitch and a bad needle, and one on an inflatable certainly keeps you on your toes (i didn't mention the power cuts and monitors either) and then find there's some MP3s knocking about...

but you're right, those memories aren't in anyone else's head when they listen. time for a new MP3 format with vibe encoding
