Some of his tunes can be really really good, and other times they seem a bit "standard issue" hard trance.

Some of his tunes can be really really good, and other times they seem a bit "standard issue" hard trance.
For example that track he did with Solray on Overdose / Pulse (whichever label is was) is really good, but then he goes and produces gash like Ruff Stuff on Nukleuz...

Yeah I love some of his stuff.
Alot of his productions lean a bit too far toward the UK Hard Dance side of things for me to play most of them.
But some of his more European influenced trax are of a real high standard.
Check these:
dbd - The meaning of Life
dbd - Apocolypse
dbd - Blackout
dbd and Johnny Dangerous - Nasty Influence/Spun Out

When I first discovered DBD on Synthetix, he was fresh, but now he's cained his sound a bit too much and gone down the wrong route a bit with his SHITE on Nukleuz and productions with Alex Kidd.
I agree completely with Si, he is hit & miss, his early stuff like 'Visions of Skywalking' and 'Dance with the Devil' are fantastic, awesome UK influenced hard trance with excellent riffs and fast paced attributes.
I liked his release with Sol Ray on Pulse but the mix down is abysmal, it's real difficult to get it to pop when you mix it in.
His remix of First Impressions is really good though, I know a lot of people are quick to slate it, but he's had to re-produce possibly one of the most well known tracks in modern day hard trance! Give the man a little respect.
So yeah, the guys a hard trance legend already but he needs to get a few new ideas in his head and go out and do what he was doing in the first instance.

he re-uses his ideas over and over and over.
he's done some properly amazing tracks, but then you hear another 3 almost exactly like it and get bored.

in the hard house / hard dance scene his productiuons stand out well above the some of the more established producers , not so sure for hard trance / european sound though .....
