looking for some tips on that classic ride sounds that so many people use. how are made smooth and runny.

also how is that kick sometimes heard before the actual measure achieved? (pre-delay?).. the one that makes it sound like it's acutually two kick the first being fainter than the actual hit on the measure?

hope i wrote that correctly.

any tips are appreciated.

p.s. eq'ing on a pc is a sonofabitch

god i think we used the rebirth ride up until about a year ago and it was fine...

pop a nice bit of reverb on your ride too, so it fizzles out nicely...

deaf and what if one makes music on the fly? meaning if u don`t export to audio, but apply effects directly (rewire)?

what if? the same principles apply in realtime! use your ears, that is what they are for! :D

And for your pre-kick kick try copying the audio for your kick running a high pass filter over it (100-300hz) and putting it the 16th before the kick and quantize with the appropriate amount of swing if youare using any and see how that sounds ...

on the other hand you could be talking about something completely different...!
