Could anyone post up some info on Freebase 383 please? Absolutely anything you know would be great!

I have one, i use it along with my 303. There's not much to learn with them. What you see is what you get. They sound great, especially with distortion. If you get one w/o a manual, i have the combo for the MIDI channels. To set them, there's 4 dip switches in the back, and they're an odd combo to set.

I had one, do not rate them at all as a 303 emulator but they make some nice acidic barks with a bit of distortion, plus they are an ok thing in their own right, just dont expect it to sound like rolands little silver box .
One more thing to anyone who has one, How light are they? [/i]

They do the distorted 303 sound ok... but not the dribbling bubbling burbling tweaky old school sounding 303

hmmm I found no problem at all getting all 303 sounds down with it.
It just requires good knowledge, and use of effects, even a tb 303 sounds shit without good effects.
Also, I opened mine up, and changed some of the Pots, so the filters on mine have even more range.
I used to make proper acid techno, and I sold my tb 303, and got another 383. Playing live every week on the rig, no one ever noticed.

I have to disagree there , some of the sound of a 303 comes from the way the sequencer works............................but you know its close enough for the extremely low price to be a worthwhile purchase. i am categorically not saying that they are no good , just that they are not a 303 and therefore cannot sound exactly right, lets face it though a lot of people wouldnt notice and they certainly wouldnt care who made the box thats making that sound they are listening to ;)
