If you want squelchy noises the MS20 from the korg legacy collection does very well

give reFX Claw a go (formally known as tbl bassline, I think). It's free, not a demo, and so I dont think there's any crippling like periodic audio drop out.

The actual synthisis can sound a bit weak, but it's worth a fiddle

alternativly, Ive had great acid fun with the logic synth (es1, es2) and rcgaudio pentagon I. not 303 simulators, but capable of insane squigy madness once you get beyond the "this sounds like clingfilm" stage.

It seems pretty conclusive that Audiorealism's Bassline gives the best 303 simulation around, so I ask this - is it still worth buying analogue hardware for the purpose of creating acidic sounds?

I don't necessarily want a carbon copy of the 303 sound, but I would like a synth that can growl and squeal, with the original TB303 seeming to have a reputation for doing this the best. Now logically this would follow that the best simulation of this machine would offer the best alternative, but is this the case?

once U touch the those little knobs on tha silver box U have yer answer...

I've had my share of acid house and then acid techno when I got my hands on 1, so I was preaty pompous like, ..."it's all donne, tryed, bla bla..." press play and  .. touch a knob and u feel  ...

I wouldn't buy 1 cause I a broke bastard! :(
