Yes we all no that any genre of music has a drought at some time and i feel at the moment Hardstyle maybe more than Hard Trance is really in need of help.
What do u feel needs to happen to make Hardstyle and Hard Trance flow again???

Hardstyle needs to get more varied, every tune has the same bassline for starters. And if a hardstyle producer was to do something different it probally wouldnt be hardstlye anymore. Its a too specific genre, I really think that it doesnt allow producers as much creativity as other genres. Techno being a prime example, but i would say pretty much any other type of dance music gives u more freedom to be original as a producer than hardstyle does.

Yeah hardstyle has boxed itself into such a tight genre that like technosmack said it can't allow producers to do anything creative before it changes to a sub-genre or another style....but then no-one is to blame but the producer's themselves for churning out the same old shit time and time again....

Hard Trance IMO isn't tireing just lacking a bit, I haven't lost interest in the UK Hard Trance scene as I think the Alphamagic labels etc are all fantastic. Maybe a few new formulas and that are needed etc...

Like Richie said the scene's having a bit of a drought at the moment, not a drought of releases, a drought of decent ones...too much shit out there.

imo try not to worry bout it, all genres evolve naturally so theres nothing we can do do make it go a certain way, just take time to find the good stuff

100% Agree!

This is the thing with Hardstyle - The 'Hardstyle' sound IS Hardstyle!!!!

If a producer were to use more trancier sounds/influences/samples then it simply wouldnt be Hardstlye anymore. Likewise with Hardcore/Gabber/Techno influences!

I think that Hardsttle has run its course now and although it will continue to be palyed and released for a good few years it is a dead genre as there is no way the sound can progress IMO!

i agree with what ur sayin about producers using more trancier sounds it wud not be hardstyle anymore i think hardstyle is very limited in what u can do with it,and with it being a mixture of all genres its hard not to mix it bout with them, maybe hardstyle will fade slowly into hard trance and be a mixture hearing both together maybe that wil give both of them a lift

there was only so much hardstyle could ever do as its a very limited genre. The screechy sounds, & off beat bass can only work and be interesting for so long. Unlike trance which can really on ever changing melodies.

sorry if it pisses people off but hardstyle is gona burn it self out, maybe something else will form from its ashes?

At the moment though I see hardstyle going down the hardhouse round. Once credible soon to become comercial and loved all the hardhouse crew.

Where I live people who were once in to hardhouse are now proclaiming hardstyle as the "new thing"

Sorry if i piss people off but just my point of view ;)
