Hi,

Yet another problem has arisen, as follows:

The adjust record latency is unticked and we have set the record placement offset to the required amount of samples to make it start recording at the beginning of the track. When you go into the sample editor to view the recorded Wav and fully zoom in you can see the recorded Wav starts before the Event Start at the beginning of the track. When we play back the recorded Wav the 1st beat at the beginning of the track sounds as if it is coming in a fraction too early.

How can we ensure the recorded Wav plays back correctly?

We hope this makes sense - any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,

MM.

go file/ preferences/ VST/ Delay compensation Threshold (for recording).

go file/ preferences/record/ retrospective record buffer size

Hope this helpz,

We're not too sure what these two things are or why you would want to change them.

The retrospective record buffer size has a figure of 10,000 which you can plus or minus by increments of one. We figure we could be trying different settings for weeks before we could get the right one. Is there an easy way to use this functioon?

In what ways do these two settings effect recording?

Cheers,

think that cubase has sort of a small buffer that records a few millisecounds just b4 u actually start recording, then it trys 2 compensate for the various latencys... What soundcard r using?

try a few notches in this 1... go file/ preferences/record/ retrospective record buffer size
