our venue in nottingham is being refurbished at the mo, and when it reopens we've got some pretty big plans. what djs, of any genre but mainly techno, hardtek, breaks and electro, would you travel to nottingham for.

alternatively, if you're from the area who would you like to see in nottingham.

Somebody who was different and not playing in London. England is seriously lacking in a specialist new school experimental club ... er... something like Neue Hiemat. club techno is popular but not differentiated. One thing the internet has shown is that there is a huge audience for the strangest of music - just very few outlets.

I guess If you want to break new ground - then you have to have a wide range of new ground greaking artists. If you just want to make cash - book Judge Jules.

I understand the waiting list for Mr. Beyer is fairly massive.

Someone I know was on the waiting list for a very long time, and a few months before the night came up, the venue phoned him and told him they were double booked.

He was inconsolable.

Last time he was here (beginning of this year I think... damn memory) everybody was phreakin... one of the better PAs I've seen and the crowd still talks about it... he will be back at some point soon I'm sure ;)

Henry told us last time was his last visit down here  He's one of the favs that I and the rest of the Sydney tech people always like to see... you'll be back Mr Drummer ;) Big Coxy was even supposed to be there for your last set in December.. haha!

Otherwise, I'd like to see Beyer (we had him booked at the start of the year but the tour fell through), we just had Misjah play at our night who was up near the top of my list, Glenn Wilson would be mental, wouldn't mind seeing Rush back here to see if he can repeat what he did to everyone that night, Garnier would be good, a bit of Hawtin, I'm a sucker for Coxy, Mills is always great (imo ;) ) and it's been years since I've seen him (still treasure my 909 that he used when he played here in 99.. haha), all the swedes (they rarely make it to sydney - never had skoog, staffan, etc), ummmnnn.. I could keep going on and on and on and on... we are starved for good tours here :eh: trying to change that though.. eventually... maybe.... hopefully...

Methodixxx

They are all pretty obvious choices as you can see in my post above.. there'd be tons of young guys and lesser know acts (comparitivly) that do bloody great stuff that I personally would love to see... just I think there would probably be maybe 10 other people in Sydney that would like to see them too which makes it a little hard ;)

get yer. I wasn't suggesting a Nihilism Festival - maybe just a positioning that was more John Peel than Top of The Techno Pops.

Making new/unknown talent work is all about getting a good copywriter/art director to do your flyers and posters. Please beleave me - really not worth trying to knock this up yourself = get a good small design shop and pay them their worth they'll make 10 fold back for you) - don't forget strong PR week-in, week-out. Its a slog but worth it.

And just but a sign on the door saying "no ****ing goths" = always a winner with everybody else and who the **** wants 80s cunts in yer club anyway unless they are under 20 and shopping at top shop ;)
