This week we welcome from Rio de Janeiro, Renato Bastos. A newcomer to
DJing, Renato only started playing in clubs four years ago. But in that
relative short time he has already played many of South America top clubs
and has shared the bill with household names such as Chris Liebing, Umek,
Laurent Garnier and Vitalic. He has also established himself alongside other
Brazilian names such as Pet Duo, Anderson Noise, Renato Cohen and, of
course, Kalif as being one of Brazil's best techno DJ's.
As a producer, Renato had his first releases in 2001 on Pertence Recordings
the label he created together with Breno Ung (www.pertence.com). His
productions are still coming together and some of them can be found on his
first album on Pertence Recordings and in the near future on the German
label Definition. His DJ sets can flow from tech-house to hard-techno and
for this set he will be using Final Scratch so make sure check him out.
Playing before Renato will be Barry Donovan, Barry rocked the club on his
debut back in May with a slick smooth set. This appearance will see him
playing a later set of the best in Clone/I-F/ Dutch inspired tracks. Playing
the first hour will be resident Simon Conway with some slow burning Italo
and synth-pop tracks.
