BangingTunes down due to hurricane Frances
Are server is located in Fort Lauderdale and the data center had to be evacuated due to the hurricane. the hurricane moved a lot slower than expected so the sites been down for over 2 days.
Heres the message from our server hosts.
HURRICANE FRANCES - This hurricane is barreling down on South Florida now and is expected to make landfall within the next 24 hours or so. All of Fort Lauderdale is under a hurricane warning and all coastal areas are being evacuated as far south as Miami. Our data center in Fort Lauderdale is about 15 miles inland from the coast and we are not expecting a direct hit. However, storms of this magnitude are extremely dangerous and hurricane force winds are extending 80 miles from the storm's center. Electrical storm activity can be extreme, with many lightning strikes in the affected area.
Due to the size and danger of Hurricane Frances, the office complex where our data center is located is being evactuated tonight at 7:00 p.m by the management of the complex. Consequently we are forced to make some difficult decisions. To protect the equipment at our data center from dangerous high-voltage electrical surges, we are going to shut down all systems tonight starting at around 6:00 p.m EST. We expect to be in "off" mode for approximately 36 to 48 hours and will resume normal operations as soon as possible on Saturday.
This has messed up our timings for moving to the new site and closing the old one so it maybe a few more days before the old site is closed.
