September 23rd sees the return to Electric City of the first lady of techno & electro: the elucidating, enchanting, entrancing Ellen Allien - DJ, producer, remixer and label-owner. Truly the Renaissance woman of the electronic music scene. After rocking the club on our first birthday we couldn't wait to get her back for a headline appearance. Arriving from Deutschland with Ms. Allien is the eminent and exceptionally excellent BPitch Control producer, Paul Kalkbrenner, a veteran of several EP's and three LP's on the cult Berlin label. His live show has blown up at clubs all across Europe and in keeping with our policy of consistently bringing fresh new artists to the Metropolitan, this will be his debut Irish performance - not to be missed. Electric City's father-figure, Giles Armstrong will put a nurturing hand over the turntables at the beginning of the night and will endeavour to guide and influence and care for the music through the course of it's first 90 minutes of life on this extraordinary Thursday evening.
