Well historically it won't be but by jaysus has there been a lot of great stuff this year that has done the old skool acid sound a lot of new found justice, if anything some of these tracks have had more style...

Some standouts:

Abe Duque feat. Blake Baxter - "What happened?"
ADJD - Stocktown City Dwellers
DJ Hell - Let No Man Jack

Anyone wanna add a few more?

I wanna know what happened to all that hard acid - almost speedcore speed. you used to hear at parties in the mid-90s - dutch and german stuff. Speedcore vs. Acid Techno kind of style.

Really not knocking the London thing but there doesn't seem to be anything else around - even the Brazillian stuff on SP and BR909 are heavily London collaborated. Maybe I the rest of the world just doesn't have the same strong group of producer DJ I am lucky enough to have on my doorstep.

Woody McBride (DJ ESP) has always kept it real on the likes of DBN

i havent heard anything new for years. Its great to hear the old sound every now and again but i dont think you could say its the year of it...hardly. that was in the 90's

Ok, it was only a thread title, and I've acknowledged your very point in the first line of my post.

This isn't a debate, so don't turn it into one :rambo:

one piece of acid techno that i thought was really original and had a modern flavour to it was this years "GUNS ARE STUPID" on SUF.
that sounded fresh to me.
