Random Factor - LIVE [20:20 Vision - Paris]
Graham O'Sullivan
Simon Conway [electricity]

Admission : e10 / e8 with flyer

This Thursday sees the return of one of our favourite producers albeit in a
different guise from his last appearance as Silicon Scally. Carl Finlow is
one of the most talented music makers around today and from his current base
in Paris he drops electronic bombs on some of the finest labels such as
Warp, Paper, SCSI-Av, Device, Klang, Soma and many more.

For this performance Carl will be playing live as Random Factor - a series
of stunningly emotive releases on 20:20 Vision though the years have made us
ask Carl back for what promises to be every bit as anticipated as his
Silicon Scally show last year. Carl Finlow records as Random Factor
exclusively for 20:20 Vision. He was one of the original visionaries who set
up the label and now continues to grace the label with his amazing music
from his new base in Paris.

He has also achieved global recognition for producing under his other
pseudonyms: Silicon Scally, Voicestealer, il.ek.tro, Circle City, and simply
Carl A Finlow. Under these guises he has released music on the finest
electronic labels in the world: Warp, Fuel, Playhouse, Paper, Trope, Klang,
Soma, Pagan, Minifunk and SCSI-Av. He also combined with Ralph Lawson on all
the 20:20 Vision remixes, including the now classic Blaze mixes and
productions for Fatboy Slim, Jamiroquai, Blaze, Swag, Jori Hulkonnen, Felix
da Housecat, Swayzak, Josh Wink, Luke Slater, and Superman Lovers.

All in all, through a decade of pioneering work in electronic music he has
gained the respect of the most highly esteemed musicians in the world,
including: Radiohead, Herbert, Richie Hawtin, Francois Kevorkian, Derrick
Carter, Andrew Weatherall, Josh Wink and Luke Slater. Maybe it is the fact
that Carl is more influenced by classic artists rather than contemporary
that he sets his standards so high. He cites Tomita, The White Noise, Yello,
Prince, and Depeche Mode before going further back in time to experimental
godfathers Stockhausen, Varese and Raymond Scott as his source of
inspiration.

Carl has developed a superb live set using the latest software technology
(Ableton Live 3 and Traktor) to takes his sounds on the road as Random
Factor or Silicon Scally. He has performed at the most important festivals
and clubs across the globe including: La Villette with Kraftwerk (Paris 02),
Sonar (Barcelona 2K), Safety In Numbers (NYC), Fabric (London), Sub Club
(Glasgow), Batofar (Paris), Electric City (Dublin), WMF (Berlin), Womb
(Tokyo), and Storm The CPU (LA). He has also toured Japan, The States three
times and Europe extensively.

Graham O'Sullivan makes a welcome return ot the Electric City altar and he
will be opening up the evening's proceedings providing the perfect
introduction to the sounds of Random Factor. Closing up the night's
entertainment will be Electric City resident Simon Conway.
