i have had a pretty good idea. this might have been though of before but, i might aswell say it anyways.
theres lots of great dj's on this forum and lots of undesscovered ones aswell. Its all good us talking to each other but what we will learn from night with each other will give us more knowledge of our styles than any forum ever could.
so what im trying to say is this,
WHY DOESNT THIS FORUM GET TOGETHER AND HAVE A NIGHT AT A CLUB PLAYING THE BEST DJS FROM THE FORUM?
AND IF YOUR NOT A DJ BUT ENJOY THE FORUM THEN YOU CAN STILL COME DOWN AND HEAR YOUR BEST MATES PLAY OUT EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT BECAUSE WE ALL SHARE SIMILAR STYLES. IF WE HAD A CLUB FOR ONE NIGHT WE COULD ARRANGE TO HAVE SETS BEING PLAYED EVERY HOUR.
dont knock my idea if it has already been tryed and it failed, but if we can all get this thing working we can have one hell of a night.

I have had thoughts about this... and while a good idea it's just awkward to execute.
This is an example of what it could be...
Mark EG's Blackout Audio Club Night
2 x Rooms: Techno, Trance/Hardstyle
Mark plays 2 hours in both rooms and leads way with memebrs of this forum playing Mark's main set.
Only problem is that you need to have money, time and a venue to make it work...

everybody on the site who is gonna get involoved could make contributions.
another proboblem will be the amount of people wanting to play out on that night.
who, and how would the forum choose?
another proboblem could be the venue.
but with the amount of people on this site we could definatly pull alot of strings. Theres people all over the country with links to all sorts of organisations.
we could work this out.

Yeah... if people all put money together you could probably get things done.
With regard to who plays... there's no true natural selection process... so random sounds good to me.
Also... I guess this would need to be led or organised by Mark if it does become a blackout audio thing... otherwise you could do the same and still use people who use this site as DJ's.

i would be up for that like. But it would be in scotland tho, i have just started a trance/hard/tech nite at the mo. Its a small venue, wi three rooms.

uk scene do a similar thing - they run 2nd or 3rd rooms for larger nites using djs off the boards. ive got bookings for NYE FI, Vibealite and Rewind events thru them and it rocks.... it also means that UKS arent losing vast sums of their money as the venue and nite are already aranged, the djs play for free due to being the up n comer crowd
..and its helping out promoters who cant be arsed to organise the other room themselves ;)

Yeah thats wat ive done basically, got m-zone headlining in may, wi the like of jay m and greame ross playing too, as they are experienced and top djs. And a lot of talented up and comin djs in other rooms who are willing to play for free, just to put on a good night, think its gonna ave to get like that, as costs spiral easily. And **** the money, i just do it for a laugh, to play out, to meet up wi cool peeps and get messy.

Ive been looking at doin something like this for a while.
If Mark would play for a discounted price (plus he'd be getting free advertisment for blackout on a good few thousand flyers) an the DJs would play for nothing or next to nothing I would do it.
The main problem is the same problem Ive been having for months an thats getting a local half decent venue that doesnt have a dress code & wont cost six arms and twentythree legs to hire out.
If I could sort a venue I would have everyone down to play at some point but since my last event Ive hit brick walls everytime round here.

i'm always up for doing free parties... but it has to be a FREE party. the venue has to be right. we don't just want a FREE party in a posh club somewhere in town. it must have that free party vibe or else what's the point? the venue is by far the most important factor. if anyone can find a good place and we've got 4 months to organise it, i'd be up for it.
if we can get a venue near a low clost airline airport, it'll also mean i could see if i could get some dj's over from abroad.

luton=easyjet....
bedfordshire has got loads of free party venues, northamptonshire is just up the M1 which has got plenty too....
are we talking a proper free party, or a free party type party in a licensed venue?
i can of course provide a sound system (unless KSS do, cos there's is better then ours..or we could have both  ?)

sounds like a good idea ppl, i think we should all ask around aswell and get some prices for venues. i play in a small club 2 down from dance academy, they hire out for next to nothing, and its free entry, but its a bit of a shitty club and im not sure its big enough.
If some one can provide details of a venue / site and secure it..... (section 6) ...... Then we could arrange a rig for one room......
The only thing we would ask is to do a bar to cover our costs, (van, travel, rig maintenance etc!!!!)
Let us know a date in advance and ensure that we have several venues and locations available so that we can give the laws that be the run arround if neccesary!

WHAT ABOUT AN OUTDOOR EVENT LADS????
I KNOW THAT THEY ARE MUCH MORE RISKEY THAN INDOOR EVENTS.....BUT WHEN THEY GO OFF THEY ARE UNFORGETABLE!!!!
FOUR MONTHS FROM NOW WOULD MEAN MID SUMMER :D . ... IF WE CAN SORT A LOCATION THEN I AM 99% SURE THAT MY DAD WILL KNOW SOMEONE IN THE AREA THAT HAS A SECLUDED, PRIVATE, COW SH#T FREE FIELD THAT WE CAN USE FOR VERY LITTLE MONEY OR FREE!!!!
THE SOUND QUALITY MIGHT NOT BE QUITE AS GOOD AS AN INDOOR ONE, THE THE ATMOSPHERE WILL BE :D
ALSO, IM PRETTY SURE THAT THERE WOULD BE SEVERAL FORIGN DJS/PA'S THAT WOULD LOVE TO PLAY WHERE IT ALL BEGAN!!!!!!

if your talking outdoor, then a beach party would be spot on. i know plenty of isolated beachs that would be perfect.

Yeah there's a place called Durley Chine in Bournmouth and it always host to beach parties. We've had some proper amazing nights there. Its gotta be in the summer though. Plus Bournmouths near Hurn!

loads of party venue's in these surrounding areas..
there's a good beach party outdoors in Bournemouth (near Sandbanks)
New Forest (loads of areas, huge forest to have it in) near Southampton airport
Bristol (just South of the city there's a woodland which has some of the UK's best party atmosphere's) also has easyjet flying to its intl airport... (cheap like the budgy...)
failing that I could find out about partys in the sussex area, Gatwick Airport close by, even cheaper for intl dj's, and people flying from one end of Britain to the other...

I think i know some people who could pull all this together as they already do illegal parties outside and they have a f*ckin massive tent and everything ud need !!
wenna
16-07-2003, 06:27 PM
.......not that any of us condone illegal raves, of course.
i've just thought of another idea aswell. we could have a set that is like all the trance forum members back to back and all the techno forum back to back! ; it would be like b2b2b2b2b2b2b2b2b2b2b2.....and so on and so on. phew!
I think i know some people who could pull all this together as they already do illegal parties outside and they have a f*ckin massive tent and everything ud need !!
Don't we all!
