was wondering what people use for software equing? i personally havent found anything i was that satisfied with yet. either the interface/controls have been bad or the sound hasnt been much exiting. anyone got some good advice as for what to check out?

one nice plugin i discovered lately is the psp vintage warmer, that is a pretty nice one, and interface is damn nice too

Yes, Waves has great EQs! So does IK Multimedia's T Racks. But that's more of a mastering tool than anything.

Does anyone know of a graphic EQ with a pot which lets you "sweep" the EQ across the spectrum?

errr... basically any parametric eq, just "grab" the frquency knob and tweak away....

Just like Z said, a Parametric eq. My fav type=o]

Thanks for the suggestions guys, but hold on a sec, my understanding is:
Parametric EQ = Curve, usually with points on it
Graphic EQ = looks like a bar graph

I find that the parametric is good for subtle changes, and graphic for extreme chops - the curve approach restricts you to "sensible" eqing, I find, whereas the bar graph lets you go screwy with it, so to speak. What I'm trying to emulate is Reason's vocoder in EQ mode, with some weird graphic EQ jumps, moving the shift pot around. You can get some insane filtering effects out of that.

If u are talking 'bout a param. eq it means u should have access 2 at least 3 parameters : Q, freq, Gain ... U might have or not another 1 which is the type of Curve/ filter...

Graphic as far as I know it's just according 2 the way it is presented visually 2 ya!
