This Thursday sees another cracking double-header at Electric City with
legendary DJ and producer, John Acquaviva teaming up with Louis Osbourne for
a night of quality techno and house. This trans-atlantic combination is set
to rock the Metropolitan walls and with admission at e10 (e8 to
list-members), we continue to do our utmost to supply you with the finest
sounds for the finest prices. Ever since the founding of Plus 8 Records with
partner Richie Hawtin in 1989 and the fame and success that came with it,
John Acquaviva has been a driving force in the international music and club
scene. Constantly on the move, John has notched thousands of worldwide
appearances at clubs, events, conferences and festivals to a cumulative
audience in the millions.
Well known for his vast record collection of over 50,000 pieces of vinyl,
spanning virtually the entire length of club music history and having played
through it as well, he is acknowledged by many as a DJ's DJ. After over 20
years behind the decks full time with residencies in many of the worlds best
clubs over the years, John is a major force in the DJ world setting the
style and standard for music today. A DJ who does not impose his image over
a club, but rather one who knows how to entertain and makes a great club
even better while taking it into the future.
Recent projects include the discovery and introduction of the most
remarkable dj technology to ever come out, Final Scratch. As well, John has
done over a dozen official CD mixes throughout the world. The longest and
most established of those being the Saturday to Sunday double CD series
where you can hear his whole range from house to techno, with the most
recent volume 4 out now!
Support comes in the shape of a return visit from House of God resident and
now also a resident of Dublin, Louis Osbourne. 29 year old Louis Osbourne is
a Techno & Tech-House DJ and has been DJing for 11 years. Coming from a
musical background it was inevitable that he was to be an entertainer of
some description. After playing alongside the likes of Surgeon and Paul
Damage at HoG on a regular basis Louis upped sticks and moved to Ibiza where
he played alongside Carl Cox, Josh Wink and Basement Jaxx. Since Ibiza Louis
has travelled the world extensively, spreading his message of quality,
underground dance music. Tours have included the USA, Germany, Canada,
Australia, New Zealand, China, Austria, Belgium, Malta, The Czech Republic,
Slovakia, Hungary and Ireland. Developing his musical style over the years,
Louis is able to rock the dance floor of any destination with his brooding
mix of Techno and Deep/Tech/Tribal house, influenced by the likes of Carl
Cox, Richie Hawtin, Mr C, Sven Vath, and Slam.
