... but, whoever it was that posted the link to the Audiorealism "Bass Line" VSTi awhile back, thank you. :) I'm really liking the sound of this VSTi. It is by no means a perfect reproduction of a 303. But, damn is it convincing. Moreso than other plugins I've played with depending on what sound you are going for. With programs like Rebirth, I found that when you have the Resonator up kinda high and turn the cut-off high as well, the high-pitch frequencies sound a bit odd. This one produces and preserves those high-pitch frequencies on most midrange notes much better. I ran it through Quadrafuzz and some delay and have just been having fun banging out melodies with it. Oh, that's the other thing I like about it too. You can use it in a programmed pattern mode or play the actual notes individually via midi controller. You can also edit the maps to assign all the knobs to midi control codes which isn't an option in a number of VSTis that I use. Check out the demo.

Again, to whoever posted the link to this plugin, thanks. :)

Yeh it is very cool, I've got both the vst and the real tb303...there is a difference, but the vst is so much easier to program and the sound, well, there's not an awful lot in it.

Enjoy!

I'm definitely looking forward to playing with it more thiis weekend. I want to hear how it will sound with a dualing 303 thing going on. I haven't strictly compared the two yet. But, just from how I was hearing it last night, I for some reason am thinking that I like the way Rebirth sounds a bit more with the notes and cutoff kept closer to the bottom. But, man, for the high sounds, no comparrisson. Wh oknows though. I haven't ****ed with Rebirth in awhil so I could pull it up and find that I might as well delete it now. ;)

Just done some A/B comparisons between the Muon Tau and the AR Bassline. The AR Bassline sounds pretty good next to the tau. Not sure which sounds closer to the real thing but I'd go with the Tau as my preference of sound at the moment. The AR bassline does have a that extra metallic edge to it but it's not my sound at the moment.

Audiorealism "Bass Line" VSTi , the don. beats paying £800+ for a tb303

IMO Mau Tau sounds shite compared to ABL, but its a matter of opinion.

The tau can sound virtually identical if you eq it right and put some widening delay on it. Just can't afford £70 for the AR bassline right now. might consdier it if I get something out of the demo that I can't get with the Tau.

I didn`t think the TAU had accenting, which is a huge part of the 303 sound.

Oh, it appears it does.

I always thought the AR Bassline sounded more authentic, however the Tau seems to have a bit more punch, which is good for basslines....

I like Muon Tau Pro alot too. I like the note sustains in it better. Perhaps I just haven't figured out how to tweak it in audiorealism. But, the note sustains get quiet pretty quick rather than just generating a continuous audible tone. Am I missing something?

The AU bassline is great :) I love it.

I've used it live as well once controlled with knobs and it sounded SHIT. But thats because the system was SHIT :(

But AU Bassline sounds great :) AND the sequencer is true to the original, which is as much a part of the "sound" as the filter.

Muon Tau is great for computer bass sounds but it doesn't have that same feel and sound as the AU bassline when it comes to reproducing the 303.
