Live: Alpha 606 (Dopamine - Miami USA)

All the way from the sunshine state of Florida, for December, we are proud to bring you Alpha 606. Alpha 606 hail from Miami and over the last couple of years have developed their own style of electronic music fusing deep bass heavy electro with glitchy noise and live Afro-Cuban percussion.

They have performed with electro greats such as Soul Oddity, Carl Finlow, Exzakt, Ectomorph and experimental artist Machinedrum and are signed to the independent Miami based label Dopamine. Sequence in December sees Alpha 606 arrive in Manchester following two months of playing live across Europe, taking in cities such as Barcelona, Brussels, London and Helsinki.

Dj: Mark Turner : Electro Set (The Orbit / Player)

Stepping up to the Sequence turntables for our xmas session is Mark Turner, one of the former resident Djs at the late, legendary Orbit club in Morley, a club that will go down in history for being one of the best techno clubs in the world.

Mark was the mainroom resident from 1997 till the club eventually closed it’s doors and in his time there has shared the billing with techno legends such as Joey Beltram, The Advent and Mark Broom. Although he specialises in all things techno, for our December party Mark is set to play a rare electro set at Sequence, music that he doesn’t get a chance to play out these days but is seriously passionate about.

Live: DNCN (Hippocamp / Phush Consumables)

Hailing from Rochdale, Manchester, Hippocamp regular DNCN has remixed the likes of Elbow for V2 Recording, Jello (aka Bola) for his lungbone EP on Peacefrog and The Brothers with Different Mothers for the Twisted Nerve Jukebox 45 Series.

In 2004, DNCN has performed several live dates in Manchester, Amsterdam, Liverpool and London and there is a growing demand for his latest tracks from several leading European record labels. December’s live set at Sequence will see the Rochdale based minimal-master performing several of new tracks alongside favourites from his trademark deep but banging live sets.

Dj: Xander (Phush Consumables)

For our xmas session we would also like to give a warm welcome to Xander for his Sequence debut. Xander has been at the forefront of the Manchester electronic music scene for the last 3 years running the excellent Phush Consumables label and promoting the intermittent Phush events that have taken place around the city since it started in 2001.

He was an original member of the notorious Terra Sound Kru (reknowned for their parties in Amsterdam and Leeds) and has played records at many clubs and festivals across the UK and Europe including Bugged Out, Big Beat Boutique, Planet of the Breaks (Amsterdam) and The Redlight supporting the likes of Cylob, Mu-Ziq, Felix Da Housecat and Graham Massey on his travels.

Turbo Turner ehh !!!

We've had Mark down at our place several times and he always does this business! Quality and massively underated Dj, it will be good to see him doing an electro set!!
I was thinking the other day how many sick nights this guy has been a part of, with being a resident at Orbit for over 10 years, i think he even played there when it was over at Osset or wherever it was!!
