Anyone noticed this? They are down to 45 seconds for new clips. How shit is that? Any old tune can have a wicked bass line but be absolutely shocker in layout, vocals, melody, synth used etc...

I just can't hear enough of the tracks to work out if they are worth buying.

GRRR...

For example, how can I work out whether this tune is any good or not?

This is a new Red Alert one. It's just 45 seconds of the break! you can't tell how the track goes.

Really frustrated by this and hope it's sorted out soon.

Yeah they're just getting the samples from the Saifam website obviously, and they'll hopefully extend the sample when they get it in stock.

Not too sure on this whole Presale business though. There have been a couple of tracks that have been on presale on there for ages, and i've seen the same tracks in stock on other online stores.

yeah it's all about the hype...

they've had a few tunes on there for ages as pre-sale, bit annoying really.

Basically we get sent single promos from a lot of labels now in advance of releases. So we thought rather than do nothing with them we would list them on the website so you the customer know all the forth coming releases before they are out!

It also give us an idea of the wants, so we get the correct quantity in and keep it in stock if its a good track!

On the new site all pre-sales are totally separate of releases. So you dont get confused.

Its only on a few presales that we use saifems samples because they send them to us. But I am going to stop using them, as Marks says they are only 45 seconds. We samples releases for about 3-4 mins long.

If u did put the whole track up, wouldnt people be able 2 burn it on 2 CD, hence not buying it from ya?

nah because the clips would skip in places, be low quality.

You would have to record the track to tape first and have to record it back, so it would sound awful.

you could easily record off you computer without having to record to tape then back to cd + convert into wav files, but its no the same quality anyways,

possible reason for short clips could be to save space / bandwith?
