Holas,

did another live-pa show at a small party in Vancouver, Canada this past weekend. Went pretty well, and I got a shitty recording of it using a stereo microphone. Sounds ok.

Equipment used: Akai MPC1000 for all samples and half the drums, Korg ER-1 for the other half. Waldorf Pulse Plus for basslines, Roland SH-101 for leads, Nord Micro Modular for other leads and misc. synthy parts. Digitech Studio Quad and Ensoniq DP/4+ for effects. Mackie CR-1604 mixer.

...and no frickin' laptop. :)

I'd love to hear your critiques, flames, etc.

Thanks man, it usually does get the party bumping. :) I'm just learning, I've only done about 20 live-pa shows so far, but I'm getting better at it each time. I've been working on the music for about five years, but always with the intent to play it live, I've never really been much of a recording guy. That's beginning to change now, since I found Ableton Live (I have no intention of using it on stage, but best studio toy ever!)

Heh - here's a couple of quick videos of my live set:

See, the problem is, I can only really get local shows, 'cause I don't have any vinyl releases - but since I'm just a live-pa, and have never been a DJ, my knowledge of all the different labels is pretty poor. I have about 15 songs written and tracked out in my sequencers, and another five or eight bursting out of my head atm, but I've gotta get these current songs recorded and done with, so I can make room for new stuff.

Can anyone suggest labels that would like my music? When these tracks are done being recorded (I'm guessing mid-to-late January), I want to get demos to any labels that might be interested.

Downloading the 2 hour download now.

Hows the scene up in Canada these days? I was there once for a Hullaballoo party in ~1998 and I was highly impressed with the crowds up there.
