Once again, DJ Becka and techno label Gotham Grooves of NYC are back to bring you ‘Gotham City Radio’ on Livesets.com.
Airing every Saturday, from 12:00pm – 3:00pm EST(eastern standard time) 18:00 – 21:00 CET(central europan time). Alongside Becka's weekly tune selections, we will be featuring international and local guest dj's and performances for your enjoyment. Our special guest for this week’s show comes all the way from Sao Paulo, Brazil. A professional DJ since 1995, Philipp Carreires began his career as a DJ in Porto Alegre [RS] in Brazil. There he was instrumental in creating and hosting a pioneering electronic music radio show for 3 years. Then in 1998 he moved to New York City where he was born to continue his career.
In 1999 Philip returned to Brazil, relocating to Sao Paulo where he began residencies in Club Naja, Banthu and Club Donna, which won premiere award in an International Conference of nightclubs in Italy in 2001 as one of the premiere clubs in South America where the music was considered one of the best attractions of the club.
Philipp has also performed at major events for Red Bull, Audi, Moet, Chandon, Smirnoff Ice, Ford Models, Red Label and other events, such included a massive music parade styled event similar to “Love Parade” in Sao Paulo which had over 1 million people in attendance. He was also the headliner at the Space Rave 5 year anniversary party, and showcased in nationally established clubs such as Amp Galaxy as well as many underground venues such as Club Patrol, Zoff Club, Club Divina, Massivo, Club Car Wash, Kalinato Ibiza as well as other major festivals and parties around Brazil. Philipp was responsible for organizing the Techno New York City which had its first edition in Sao Paulo showcasing New York DJ Kazu of Vinyl Market. Philipp has also appeared with Tim Taylor of Missle Records UK as well as playing with Renato Cohen, Pet Duo, Dj Noise, David Morales, Steve Black, Renato Lopez, Mau Mau and others..
Philipp is preparing for the next level that includes gigs in the United States, Canada and Europe as well as music production and completion of a mix CD showcasing Brazilian techno artists.
