philterkeyz

Type: resonant filter

http://scuzzphut.panicnow.net/Articles/philterkeyz.gif

http://scuzzphut.panicnow.net/Articles/plugins.html

http://www.djmarko.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/philterkeyz.zip

Features:

philterkeyz is a resonant filter plugin with a difference.

Filter cutoff is controlled by midi notes and the cutoff frequency is calculated to match the frequency of each note.

Try inserting it after a vsti playing a riff. Feed that same riff to the plugin and the filter provides an added dimension.

Alternatively, try inserting it after a long sweeping pad sound, then routing your midi keyboard to philterkeyz. Raise the resonance and you can play a filter line over the top of the pad.

Stepcomb is a stereo comb filter vst effect. The frequency of the comb filter is controlled by a step sequencer with pitch and octave. There is also a standard SV filter before the comb to control the sounds (which can sometimes be very brutal). There is a cv sequencer which can effect the comb pitch and/or the filter cutoff. A noise oscilator can be used to excite the signal and an HPF (postfilter) can remove unwanted bass frequencies. When processing a stereo track, the right comb can be offset by octaves or semitones. This plugin uses some parts from the forthcoming synth "groove modulator" such as the step sequencer, shuffle clock and the randomiser. The step sequencer section is designed to be transferable between projects so if youre synth needs a sequencer, grab the source files to stepcomb and copy and paste.

Analog Industries Filterizer

Type: Filter

http://www.analogindustries.com/mt/archives/shot_filterizer.gif

After messing up the step settings on Steinberg's StepFilter for the upteenth million time, I decided that there has to be a better way. Utilizing the Audio Damage DSP library, and spending an inordinate amount of company time, I came up with this little gadget, which fulfills the same functions as StepFilter, but is far more appropriate to my working environment.

Basically, it is a normal state-variable filter. The twist is that the filter frequency can be controlled by MIDI note number in addition to the normal knob-twisting action. You instansiate it as an insert effect (or send, if you feel daring), then assign a MIDI track to it the same way you would to, say, a VSTi or other MIDI-capable effect. You can then "play" the filter with your MIDI keyboard. After using it for a while, I added the "hang" button to the MIDI control section. If this is on, the filter stays at whatever the last MIDI note was. If it is off, the filter returns to the knob value as soon as the key is released. If you use it in this mode, you'll want to quantize the ends of the notes, as well, unless your timing is absolutely stellar.

If you have any questions about this plug-in, or ideas for features to improve it, drop me a line at chris@audiodamage.com and I'll endeavor to please. I have only tested it with Nuendo and Cubase on Windows and Macintosh. Your mileage may vary if you use a different host.

Quantum 64 is a harsh and aliased digital synth with single DCO

ingredients that make the soul of Quantum 64 are the arpeggiator

now some free comps and limiters 'n' stuff,

starting with

The Vanilla Compressor

The Vanilla Compressor is a general-purpose, stereo compressor plugin, with optional sidechain input. It can be used on individual instruments, across aux busses, or even as a mastering effect. Its fine-tuned, "smooth as buttah" sidechain and specialized release shapes make it equally at home with vocals, drums, guitars and full mixes. Use it sparingly for subtle, transparent "tightening"; or drive it hard and fast for deep, "balls-to-the-walls" pumping. Go ahead--try a little Vanilla!

Obviously, there isn't anything revolutionary about the Vanilla Compressor. This compressor isn't about bells and whistles; it's about getting the right sound, quickly and easily. And while there are many other compressor plugins to choose from, we hope that you will choose this one primarily for its sound and simplicity.

The Vanilla Compressor is currently in the alpha stage, and is free to download and evaluate. After development is completed, the final release can be purchased for $50 USD via the website.

Betabugs Audio Simple Squeeze

http://www.betabugsaudio.com/images/SimpleSqueeze.jpg

Simple Squeeze - This plug-in is the embodi-ment of the Betabugs design ethos. One knob! Auto gain make-up is present, and there is an always-on smooth brick-wall limiter at the end, just to make sure you never get any nasty digital clipping. The knob simultaneously controls threshold and gain, so that the more you crank it, the more squashed your signal gets.

you left out the best one GCOMP . visualized waveform makes it much easier...
http://www.chinaski.org/gvst/GCompBig.gif

GComp is a compressor designed for general mixing duties, i.e. it aims to transparently level-out the incoming signal to fit better into a mix. The GUI features a waveform display to show what is happening to the signal and to aid the configuration process. It can be used in mono or stereo configurations, with the GUI adapting accordingly. This plug-in introduces a small delay, and so is best used in hosts featuring PDC (Plug-in Delay Compensation).

the reason i haven't tried the gcomp plugs is this

''This plug-in introduces a small delay, and so is best used in hosts featuring PDC (Plug-in Delay Compensation). ''
cos this kinda irritated me. if that's no problem in fruity, i will give the entire g.series a test, mate

there used to be a similar vst by tbl (thug of war compressor), but his page is down (and with it other nice plugs as a maximizer, 'tapestop' and so on).

George Yohng's W1 Limiter VST

No image here, because:

"W1 uses the plug-in host's default interface."

W1 Limiter is a clone of Waves L1, with identical output. :!: :!: :!:

I have not seen any Waves source code, and this result was obtained by tweaking 4Front YLimiter, by doing the following:
Release curve simplified
Release time multiplied 3 times (see notes below)
Softening circuit filter changed
Waves L1 famous limiter (and thus W1 - for compatibility reasons) uses three times longer actual release time than standard RT60 metric. This means that if you set 50ms release in the limiter, it will actually yield with 150ms standard RT60 release time.

Since this cloning could be done, you may have no doubt that in the future I'll provide you with a commercial limiter, that beats everything currently available (I have prototypes already).

How to check this limiter compatibility to L1?

Process the same sound with L1 and with this limiter, using the same threshold and release settings.

During measurement, check that both of the sounds are aligned properly. You can insert a single test peak in the beginning, and after processing - clip the sound, so that it starts exactly from the peak.

Subtract the results and see the residue.

Note, that you can't set sliders exactly to the same values on both limiters. 30ms release may mean actually 30.01234ms, so due to such minor differences, there will be small residue left.

channel insert package

http://www.digitalfishphones.com/images/screenshots/blockfish.jpg

BLOCKFISH is a versatile compressor with countless ways to shape the incoming audio.
Unlike many other digital compressors, BLOCKFISH has 'soul'. It likes to bite, but it can be tamed easily once you've learned how to use its potential.

SPITFISH

http://www.digitalfishphones.com/images/screenshots/spitfish.jpg

SPITFISH is a dead-easy to use de-esser, aimed mainly at mono or stereo vocal tracks. Just like classic analog de-essers, this unit dynamically filters out harsh, annoying s-like sounds that would otherwise 'spit' in your face.

FLOORFISH

http://www.digitalfishphones.com/images/screenshots/floorfish.jpg

FLOORFISH is a simple expander / gate device, easy to set up and offers a broad variety of processing, ranging from slight expansion, backgound noise attenuation to extreme gating effects.
What's different from similar units is the ability to scan the source and adjust the transistion curve accordingly

Delay Lama

http://www2.hku.nl/%7Eanerdz/picz/screenshot_big.jpg

Delay Lama is the first VST-instrument to offer both vocal synthesis and a real-time animated 3D interface. Its advanced monophonic vocal synthesis engine enables your computer to sound just like an Eastern monk, with real-time, high resolution control over the vowel sound. What's more, the plug-in window displays a 3D animation of a singing monk, that reacts directly to your input!

In addition, Delay Lama offers a simple but effective built-in stereo delay (you've guessed it), to give it just that extra bit of impressiveness.

The instrument can be controlled either with a MIDI keyboard, in which case the pitchbender acts as a vowel manipulator, or with the built-in XY-controller, which allows simultaneous control over both the pitch and the vowel sound. Other controls include the portamento speed and the level of the delayed signal. All parameters are controllable via MIDI, and all incoming events are handled with sample-accuracy.

http://www.rozzer.net/MetalMickey/MetalMickey.jpg

Metal Mickey is a sequenced, synced delay unit.

An 8 step sequencer drives the delay time. This is the matrix of red LEDs at the top. The delays are synced to host tempo. Changing the matrix values changes delay time for the given sequencer step.

A second sequencer, running at the same speed, controls the delay feedback. This is the row of 8 sliders underneath the Delay time matrix.

The sequencer has a number of features... random stepping, mulitplication and division of speed, adjustable slide (from one value to the next) and a an adjustable loop point.

The higher delay times can be tuned using the Tuning slider.

The wet signal then passes through a multimode filter, a low pass filter and a high pass filter (this allows you to really 'shape' the delay line).

Finally the dry and wet signal can be mixed as required.

There are also 2 dedicated LFOs.

i know dfx has been named before, but this in particular is so good:

dfx Buffer Override

http://destroyfx.smartelectronix.com/bo2.jpg

Buffer Override can overcome your host app's audio processing buffer size and then (unsuccessfully) override that new buffer size to be a smaller buffer size. It makes a lot more sense if you just try it out and hear what it does. It can sound like a stuttery vocoder or a stuck beat shuffler or many other delightful things. In certain hosts, you can also "play" Buffer Override via MIDI notes and even sync it to song tempo.

Satyr va synth

http://www.funkelectric.com/%7Ecockaigne/images/satyr.jpg

Satyr is a massive Virtual Analog synth with comprehensive oscillator
waveshaping and modulation methods. It is inspired by the monster
modular synths of old and even though it is hardwired there are plenty
of different modulation possibilities. There are two oscillators with
variable waves, an additional sub osc and noise generator, ring modulation,
FM, amplitude modulation and sync, three ADSR time/level envelopes
(2 assignable) with delays and manual triggering, two variable lfos
with sample & hold and two filters. There is an internal clock for
BPM synced Lfos and sixteen different modulation destinations. There
are two filters, one 4-pole lowpass and one 2-pole multimode and they
can be in parallel or serial mode, among others. So as you can see
there is pretty much going on inside Satyr.

There are two versions of Satyr available: normal Satyr that is

EDGE

http://www.codeaudio.com/fat-ass/Screenshots/edge.jpg

How low can you go? Well, now you can go even lower with EDGE.

EDGE is a subharmonic synth, which in lay man's speak means that if you feed it audio the resulting output will be your audio plus extra low bass.

Unlike most bass enhancers, it doesn't just boost the bass or shape the lower frequencies. What it does is takes the input signal and creates a bass signal one (or even two) octaves lower than the original.

Because not every signal is a simple sine wave, there is input filtering which effectively gives the plugin a more simple waveform to process. It's free, so why not give it a go?

dominion
signal modelling device

http://www.digitalfishphones.com/images/screenshots/dominion.gif

What is dominion?
If you were searching for a tool to shape the envelope of a signal, giving you total control of the signal's attack & sustain phase, dominion is certainly something for you!
But it's got more to offer...

A short overview of the features:

Envelope section. Adjust attack & sustain independently, regardless of input level. Plus, you have control over the envelopes' time constants. Imagine pulling a drummer up front or pushing him to the background by dragging just a single slider! Feel like moving the walls around him? Again, a single push enhances the room information or can make the sound really dry.
Imagine doing things like this with other instruments as well... :)

Saturation stage. Following digitalfishphones tradition, the plugin can help to reduce harshness often associated with digital recordings, giving back some warmth and life to your source by modelling classic analog equipment. The tonal character stays adjustable within a broad range.

High frequency details section. Similar to classic exciter circuits, this section allows you to brighten up a signal, giving transparency and depth by generating additional harmonics.

Non-clipping output stage. Like the endorphin compressor, a brickwall waveshaper circuit ensures that the output won't exceed -0.1dBFS, while remaining sonically clean.

The full working principle can be read in the user's manual that is included in the download file.
I would definitely recommend that you read through the sections in order to fully understand the concepts and their potentials.

Prepare for another versatile freeware tool to be added to your collection :)

Available for PC/Win & MacOS hosts.

Bass Chorus

http://www.cloneensemble.com/bc_scr.png

- It's not just a chorus - it's a true thru-zero flanger

- It's not just for bass - it's flexible and full-featured

- A huge, wide bass sound without sacrificing punch and focus

Have you ever used a stereo chorus on a bass sound and ended up with a muddy bottom end swimming all over the place?

Bass Chorus can avoid that problem by separating the bass and treble frequencies, where you set the cutoff frequency. The effect is only applied to the treble portion, which is then mixed back with the bass for output.

CRAYONfilter

http://www.betabugsaudio.com/images/BetabugsAudio-Crayon2.png

Crayon Filter is a multi-band filter plug-in. The band controls allow you to add a type of filter to the output of the signal. You can engage up to five filter types at once (one of each type). Low Pass attenuates high frequencies, giving your sound a “dull” feel. Band Pass attenuates both above and below the cutoff frequency, for a “thin” or “nasal” sound, High Pass removes low frequency signals. Notch removes just a small band of frequencies from the signal. Peak boosts a small band of frequencies in your audio.

We are proud to announce the release of our newest plug-in: FLOFIdeluxe, which could happen to be described as a pitchdestroying- frequencyshapeshiftinggraintool, so if you've ever needed one of those your prayers have been answered! FloFi combines a filter with an octave pitch shift algorithm. The filtered signal runs through the pitch shift, at which time it may be further altered. This signal is then added back to the original, for effects ranging from a subtle livening of dead sources, to trashy thrash.

GLACEVERB

http://www.dasample.com/images/screenshots/glaceverb_large.jpg

GlaceVerb is Dasample's first attempt to implement its works on Residual Vector Modulation (RVM) in a VST plugin. RVM is a proprietary algorithm developed to calculate the deformations, the vibrations and the acoustic response of surfaces and materials.

Imagine a big orchestra playing in a giant box builded with thin metal sheets. As the panels are not very rigid, the box will vibrate according to the energy of music and produce an audible spectral deformation. RVM algorithm is able to simulate such deformations and vibrations and apply them to the original signal.

GlaceVerb is the only VST reverberation plugin able to modelize liquid acoustic spaces like water. Unlike other reverbs with presets named Room, Cathedral, Stadium etc., GlaceVerb is very easy to use and comes with 64 hi-quality presets designed for real musical situations (including presets for final mix, strings, piano, vocal tracks, drums, percussions and ultra transparent presets for high-end masterings). Maybe your next main Reverb !

Key Features :

- Residual Vector Modulation (RVM) reverberation engine
- Reverberation time : up to 20s
- Improved reflections algorithms for more natural sounding
- Surface parameters (Texture, Absoption, Reflection)
- Density control (from Flat to Extreme reverberation)
- Size, Bass, Dry and Wet quick access controls
- Very easy to use and ultra functional interface with large LCD screen
- All functions and controls are fully automatable
- 64 hi-quality presets

It's absolutely FREE . Get It Now !

SIR - convolution reverb

"....you can add the reverb from a £11k Lexicon...." :rambo:

http://www.museresearch.com/kvr/i/b/sir.jpg

SIR is a reverb device that works with "impulse-responses". Impulse-responses are generated by recording short, broadband signals and their corresponding room-reflections, and by cutting out the initial signal. What is left contains the information needed to reproduce the same room with other signals.

Due to technical reasons the plugIn works with a fixed latency of 8960 samples that is compensated for by the VST-host.

SIR is a stereo plugin. To take full advantage of stereo impulses for mono signals, you must first convert the track to stereo.

ndc Buffer Synth 2

http://www.museresearch.com/kvr/i/b/buffersynth2.jpg

Buffer Synth 2 is a buffer manipulation plugin, designed to do a number of different things with audio buffers. It could be thought of as a cross between GRM Tools' Freeze and a wavetable synthesizer, in the way it can be used as either an effect-type plugin, or as an instrument in its own right. To get the most out of it, you'll need a relatively flexible plugin host - most importantly, one which will allow you to send MIDI data to effects plugins.

Features:

- 2 separate buffers (88200 samples in size) - can record the incoming audio stream or WAV files can be loaded.
- Amp and Mod ADSRs.
- 2 LFOs.
- LP/BP/HP resonant filter.
- MIDI Learn.
- Synth Mode.

it's available here until niall's server is free again.

http://destroyfx.smartelectronix.com/extras/eqsync.gif

EQ Sync is a ridiculous equalizer. You have no control over the EQ curve, if you try to adjust the faders they will escape, and the EQ parameters don't make any sense anyway. The EQ setting changes on its own according to your song's tempo.

KTGranulator

http://www.smartelectronix.com/~koen/KTGranulator/KTGranulator%20ScreenShot.png

KTGranulator is a free delay line granulator available as a VST effect plugin with custom editor and as a MacOSX Audio Unit. It was made as an exploration in building VST effect plugins and using the VSTGUI library and was inspired by the great DLGranulator effect in Ross Bencina's AudioMulch.

It works like this: incoming (mono) sound is fed into a delay line from which small pieces of various durations and at different moments in the past are selected. Each of these pieces is then amplified, transposed and enveloped to form a "grain". Each grain is also randomly panned and the whole mix is sent out to a stereo output stream. Feedback of the grain output back into the delay line is also provided, and the delay line can also be frozen so that the grains are only taken from what is currently stored in the delay line.

KTDrumTrigger

http://www.smartelectronix.com/~koen/KTDrumTrigger/KTDrumTrigger%20ScreenShot.png

KTDrumTrigger is a VST plugin with custom editor that triggers MIDI notes based on the sound level of the incoming audio stream in different frequency bands. It allows you to "detect" occurrences of percussive sounds in an audio stream and send out a MIDI event whenever that happens.
It works like this: incoming (mono) audio is split up into different frequency bands using three tweakable filters. The signal in each of these bands is sent through an envelope follower. When the envelope reaches a specified threshold level, a MIDI note on message is generated. The trigger module has some built-in hysteresis and minimum inter onset time settings to avoid fast successive triggers due to noise on the envelope curves. Visual feedback of the filter and trigger settings is available....

Note that this is a rather simple system for finding drum onsets in an audio stream. It will probably only work reliably on isolated drum tracks (no mixed-in music), it's quite sensitive to volume changes and it might not always be possible to separate the different types of drum sounds using simple filters. However, if you just need a fast way of transcribing your isolated drum tracks into MIDI so you can tweak them further or apply the groove to other parts, it might well do the trick and save you a lot of time :-)

That said, no one says you *must* use this on drum tracks! You might come up with some other applications where this thing comes in handy or use it to extract a rhythmic sequence out of an instrument track (although this will only work with instruments that have clear onsets). As always: tweak those knobs and experiment!

tobybear Deconstructor

http://www.tobybear.de/images/ss_deco.gif

Deconstructor takes your input signal, splits it into 8 equal pieces and lets you then
determine how these pieces should be arranged and processed. While the algorithm
itself is pretty simple, a broad variety of "classic" effects can be reproduced in a very
simple way, for example Pitchshifting, Autopanner, Tremolo, Delay, Simple Reverb,
Simple Vocoder, and so on... But don't forget that its true power lies in the combination
of different processing methods to produce new, strange and sometimes very exciting
effects: mangle your drumloops into something completely different, transform voices
into a cacophony, let your rhythms shake!

Deconstructor comes as a VST effect and VSTi instrument plugin. The effect plugin
allows you to process your audio in realtime while the VSTi loads WAV loops for
processing.

Plugsound Free is our new demo plugin, using all the refinements of Plugsound V1.8. Included with the plug-in is a specially programmed selection of sounds from the 6 Plugsound volumes. The plug-in and dat file are using about 64 MB. If you’re using a regular dial-up modem this may prove unpractical. Cable and DSL users should have no problem downloading this, however.
To keep the download a short as possible, we’ve edited the presets of several sounds. Larger versions are available on the appropriate Plugsound volume.

Remember to visit the support page for a full color manual, and several “getting started” PDF.

BASSLANE

http://www.otiumfx.com/images/basslane_big.jpg

Basslane is a free audio effect for VST compatible hosts. It's a simple, yet very handy little utility to control the stereo field of lower frequencies in your audio material. Allows you to define the processed frequency range while using several monitoring options, and to tweak how much you want it squezed.

What is this useful for?

• Regain tightness in the bottom of your mix by preventing kick drums and bass lines flying around all over the stereo field.

• Drumtracks mixed from multiple sources, or processed with delay, reverb etc will often just sound confusing if the kickdrum isn't centered. Just drop Basslane on the track.

• Experiment with effects on various tracks without losing definition and focus in the bass region.

• Very useful when mastering for vinyl records.

MStools

The MS technique makes it possible to apply effects only to the mid (M) or the side signal part (S) of a stereo recording. In this way you can (for instance) let an EQ work on the M to give a voice more air without affecting the cymbals (that are panned to the side) too much or you can use a compressor to affect only the M-elements like kick, bass, voice. You also can adjust the ratio of M to S and there are many other situations where MS processing makes sense. Of course the input signal must be mono compatible.
Since you can't use the MS technique on a normal stereo recording with left (L) and right (R) channel the following tools will make it possible to use your favorite plugins for this purpose.

- LRtoMS and MStoLR

and

- MSadjust

Coldcutter

http://www.brightonart.org/images/beta2inlive.gif

Developed by BrightonART, designed and sponsored by Coldcut for DNAROM fans worldwide (Do No Art, Run Our Machine).

The Coldcutter is a VST 2.0 plugin. The Coldcutter is designed to chop a loop into a number of slices or 'cuts' and rearranges them randomly in real-time according to a number of parameters. The current version of the Coldcutter was primarily designed for use with Ableton Live 1.5 but works with Cubase. It has undergone preliminary testing on Cubase VST 5.0 R4 and Cubase SX 1.01 on Windows 2000. Any information about compatibility problems with other hosts or versions of Windows gratefully
received.

For bug reports or to join the Coldcutter mailing list, please email coldcutter@brightonart.co.uk

Getting Started:

Import an audio loop. Open coldcutter.dll on an effects send or master effects channel. Set the 'loop length' to the number of beats in the loop. Start the loop playing. You can now vary the other parameters to taste.

what kinda bass do you mean. subs? there's good subs to be found in many a synth (z3ta+/...junglist as said before/i think novation v-station, too etc.). if it's subs your arge going for then you could have a go a workin with 808 kicks and/or 909 kicks and pitch down/rez/dist/ take, using 808 kix is a very well known technique in d'n'b for example, dilinja...

that's what i've heard...

Elevayta has released Extra Boy, a free VST effect for Windows designed primarily for removing vocals from stereo audio files. However, the versatility available may lend itself to other uses as this is no ordinary vocal remover. Extra Boy incorporates two completely different algorithms for vocal removal - choose whichever suits your material best or combine both.
Key features:

High quality vocal removal or isolation with maximum stereo field preservation.
Mode 1 - Spectral based vocal removal algorithm utilizing the "Stereolize" correction process (Elevayta proprietary).
Mode 2 - Spatial based vocal removal utilizing the "Spreadilate" algorithm (Elevayta proprietary).
Hi-Res Mode.
All parameters can be fully automated.

Edward Hazelden has released Reverb-O-Matic v1.1, a reverb VST plug-in for Windows based on Moorer's reverb model (from 'About this reverberation business').
It uses 6 comb filters in parallel followed by a single all-pass filter. The initial parameter settings are those recommended by Moorer for a sampling rate of approx. 44.1Khz. Each comb filter has a single-pole low-pass filter in its feedback loop to approximate the absorption of materials (i.e. walls) and these are labeled LP coefficients on the custom GUI.

- 3rd order spline interpolation. Thanks to http://www.musicdsp.org for the formula.
- (Psuedo) sinusoidal LFO wave form
- propriatory stereo SPREAD algorythm ! (The more you turn the SPREAD knob the more the choruses are panned ).
- Click free knobs (I'm proud of this feature)...
- C++/SSE plugin. SSE is optional and can be turned off (less usefull feature ever)... It took me maybe 5 houres to turn the FPU instructions into "optimized" SSE ones and the gain is 0%... I think the operations are done much faster but it is compensated by the loading and the reading of the SSE buffers...

MiniMogueVA

http://glenstegner.com/MinimogueVA.jpg

Based on the most popular analog monosynth of all time! This amazing softsynth sounds very close to the original Minimoog. Like the original, it's a monosynth (no polyphony), but additional features not present in the original Mini include dedicated Release knobs for the two Contour Generators (envelopes), Tuning of Osc 1, Fine Tuning sliders for Osc2 and Osc3, Aftertouch control, and 3 Overdrive sliders (one per oscillator) that helps to thicken up the oscillators in much the same way as a Chorus effect. So, you'll be able to create sounds that even the original Mini couldn't do! Like the original Mini, you can turn Osc3 into an LFO with dedicated modulation knobs for the Osc Pitch and the Filter. There is no dedicated Noise Generator as on the original Mini, but pink and white noise are selectable on Osc 3. All controls are mapped to MIDI CC#'s, and you can override the default settings by using the MIDI Learn feature. Use as a simple stand-alone synth (.exe file included), or copy the DLL into your favorite DAW or sequencer's plugin folder.

JS Minisample (http://membres.lycos.fr/jeje1999/jsms.zip)

No GUI. It's a looptool/sampler effect, and will read up to ten seconds of channel audio into memory when set to record, and then will playback the result looped continuously, at a chosen pitch, either forward, backward, or forward/backward, and you can set the loop begin and end points with other sliders.

otiumFX has updated BassLane to v1.1.

http://www.museresearch.com/kvr/i/b/basslane.jpg

Changes:

Various compatibility updates & fixes.
Added 12 dB/oct switch.
Improved interface response.

Basslane is a simple, yet very handy little utility to control the stereo field of lower frequencies in your audio material.

What is this useful for?

Regain tightness in the bottom of your mix by preventing kick drums and bass lines flying around all over the stereo field.
Drumtracks mixed from multiple sources, or processed with delay, reverb etc will often just sound confusing if the kickdrum isn't centered. Just drop Basslane on the track.
Experiment with effects on various tracks without losing definition and focus in the bass region.

Minion has balls - four of them, pinging and swinging their way around an innovative XYZ pad that's used to control the plug-in and to give visual feedback. For each ball, there's an effect module, and each of those can produce one of a variety of filter effects, including several filter/distortion combinations.

vst instruments and effects created using Synthedit

Free VSTi - Voc-one

Choirs can give any kind of music a lift, but sampled choirs are not versatile and many vocal synthesize concentrate so hard on trying to sing a lyric that they forget to carry a tune.

Ever wondered how Tomita created such convincing choir sounds...

Voc one is different, using a simple analogue synthesizer to simulate the glottal pulse or pulses and then using a powerful, morphable formant filter bank to give a realistic, warm and flexible vocal quality:

full control over each stage of the vocal synthesis
morphable formant filter with 11 recognised phonetic vowel spectra
morphing between vowels sounds subtle and natural
control over the register of the formant filter and the emphasis to give a much greater range of possible vocal types
8 presets plus room for 8 more
built in high quality reverb (UDReverb based on freeverb - thanks to Elogoxa and David Haupt for this)
lots of potential for experimentation.
It should be noted that CPU usage is quite high with this one and a minimum 1.2GHz processor is recommended, although it will work (if the playing is not too complex) on an 800MHz processor.

Betabugs Chorrosive

http://www.museresearch.com/kvr/i/b/chorrosive.jpg

Chorrosive is a simple device: it accepts audio in, "runs it through various types of battery acid", and drops it out the other side. The 'Battery Acid' is comprised of a chorus unit, band pass filter and transistor emulation, applied to the incoming audio in varying degrees.

Common usage is via the Large Friendly Dial on the front. Turn it up to stir the acid; turn it down to retrieve your original signal.

Whilst we're on EQs, posted this one in the other thread, but think it's worth the repost (no gui):

http://home.earthlink.net/~rocksonics/SimpleQ.dll

SimpleQ is a FREE plug-in that emulates the simple Bass/Treble tone controls found on stereos and smaller mixing consoles. While simple in operation, this plug in is extremely useful. SimpleQ is a "shelving" equalizer that can boost or cut the high or low frequencies by up to 10dB. For proper operation this plug-in must be used as an INSERT on channel or master outputs (the processor will produce no output when used as a SEND effect).

Betabugs SVF²

http://www.museresearch.com/kvr/i/b/svf2.jpg

SVF² - SVF2 is a 2-pole State Variable Filter (12 dB/oct) which gives the user the option of using low pass, band pass, band reject, high pass, or peak filter output for each stereo channel. More importantly, the user can morph between filter types as he sees fit, and modify the order in which each filter type morphs into the next. This can result in some truly dramatic phase effects, making the SVF2 a powerful creative tool.

MiniMogueVA

http://glenstegner.com/MinimogueVA.jpg

Based on the most popular analog monosynth of all time! This amazing softsynth sounds very close to the original Minimoog. Like the original, it's a monosynth (no polyphony), but additional features not present in the original Mini include dedicated Release knobs for the two Contour Generators (envelopes), Tuning of Osc 1, Fine Tuning sliders for Osc2 and Osc3, Aftertouch control, 3 Overdrive sliders: one per oscillator (sort of a chourus effect to help thicken the sound), Oscillator Sync, Oscillator Drift (to emulate a drifting analog VCO), and a fully programmable Digital Delay!
