• This week we will be celebrating the release of Gotham Grooves GGr008, which will be released on Monday Jan. 17, 2005.

In honor of this event we will be featuring an exclusive set from Christian Smith alongside our very own Agent Orange!

Christian is currently in the finishing stages of completing his debut full length album together with John Selway. Christian says to "expect something different ranging from dance floor electro to soulful electronic vocal house, and obviously some techno. Not just some normal techno double pack." He will also be completing his next mix CD for Florida 135, "the best club in Spain" according to Christian. In other Tronic label and production news, he has just finished a new single and a remix of DK8's "Murder was the Bass." The mix of Christian’s that we will feature is from club Joker Red in Seoul, S.Korea.

Agent has performed across the globe (Greece, Holland, France, Belgium, Italy, S. Korea, Colombia, and Venezuela), side by side with some of the biggest techno artists, including Christian Smith , Adam Beyer, Misstress Barbara, Cristian Varela, Deetron, and Ben Sims, and most recently Marco Carola (just to name a few) . He has also toured across North America, held numerous residencies, and was a regular at Christian Smith's Tronic Treatment in New York.

A little insight to our 8th release on Gotham Grooves- Various Villans 2:
The creativity in this release is evident from the start. A1 showcases the fast-rising techno madman, Agent Orange. His track, “Fuct,” is a hard-driving, funky Techno track, complete with hypnotizing electric guitar chords and a Cyprus Hill hip-hop style sample. A2 highlights Alek Biotic, another well-kept U.S. secret. Introducing his newly created alter ego Montaz, his ground-breaking “Anathema” cut takes all its drums from Jazz percussion, brushes, rides, etc., while the main melody is electro based with hard Nord Lead synth stabs and bass lines. Without a doubt, Anathema is not your typical techno track.

The B-side is a deeper, sexier affair. B1 features America’s own global sensation, Adam Jay. Adam’s “Ms. Rodgers” combines deep, luscious pads over dark, groovy tech-house beats – that irresistible sound that made Adam famous. B2 completes the package with Canada’s Noah Pred (Pacific Technics, Consigned). His “Miasma” is a spacey, atmospheric tech-house journey that has crossover appeal.

Tune in, sit back, relax, and enjoy the sounds from Gotham City…….
