Well thanks for all the postive comments about the new site and the criticism as well. We are listening to you!
Please read my points:
Launching a totally new site is a big job and there are always problems when you go to launch. We have over 15,000 customer accounts logged with us, 10,000's of 1000's of sound samples. Its a big site to re-do and get it right straight away.
We had to change the site because the database was run on "file maker" and it couldnt handle the database thats why the old site was slow and crashed regularly. Now its on a totally brand new database system which is fast and wont crash!!!
We had problems when we launched the old site a couple of years ago, but within a few weeks we sorted all the little bugs and niggles. And it will be the same with the new site.
So please bare with us!!!
1) Some people have had a problem logging into their accounts. On our computers the login works fine, and for most people it does but some people it does not. We are trying to fix this now! Obvioiusly a "cookie file" problem.
2) When we imported all the database information from the old site to the new site, a lot of titles which we do not have in stock were put in stock by a computer error on transfer.
This is really annoying if you had happened to place an order and we didnt have that title. So I do apologise for this error. We have corrected most of the stock now.
3) All our contact information will be on the site this week and our email is now working fine!
4) Shortly when you click releases it will bring up just the new releases and not the re-stocks. To view the re-stocks you will need to select re-stocks for a genre and click go. Its not that we are trying to sell old titles. A lot of our business is re-stocks. Thats what shops dont do.
5) Some people had multiple accounts where they had forgotton their details and created a new account on the old site time after time. To clean it up we deleted all their previous accounts leaving the newest to free up usernames and passwords. But oviously for some people it may have deleted all their accounts. Just create a new account!
Please keep your comments coming, good and bad!
Thanks
Russell

Thanks Russell for explaining this. I've been purchasing from GT.Com for a few years now it must be, think I've orderd 270 records from you lot in total... (shit! that's nearly £2000's worth!). The frustrating part is I had loads of records found in my box that I really badly needed to order from end of december til now and I've not been able to buy from you. My account "ma_reading" still won't log in and the new one I created (as suggested) under "Hakka" still doesn't let me log in either! so I'm just frustrated as I don't want to miss out on those tunes, but appreciate there will always be problems with a new revamp as big as this. I don't want to have to buy elsewhere, but I have no choice until I can order through your site again...
With regard to selling re-stocks, I understand that most sales will be re-stocks, but it's a bit anoying to be going through tunes nearly 2 years old a few pages in from the first. I will make a note of search options and appreciate you answering these comments.

Ok, I've tried to do the "New" search on hard trance, and I still have re-stocks coming up?

For example, Dark Sucker - Call Me & Hennes & Cold - Sound Of Rock. These are not new, and it doesn't have re-stock listed there either. And that's about 3 pages in on the "new" hard trance search.
This is what I find annoying. I want to browse records that are new and the search isn't providing this.

The login has been a real pain to fix. We are just importing all the old account details again. Should be fixed early this evening.
We are also re-importing peoples boxs with all their records and wants etc. So this should please a lot of people.
We still have to fix it to stop the re-stocks coming up with the new releases.
Got the rotating banner going now, so if you want your banners on the site email them down info@germantrance.com
