I know it´s a lame question, but anyway. I use Peak 4 for recording my mixes and I dont know how to make individual tracks without having any pause between them :?:

cue file?? not really sure what do you mean by that.

Milesy

cue files are the only way ive done it for years

FILE "Chris Miles - some mix blah blah.mp3" MP3
TRACK 01 AUDIO
INDEX 01 00:00:00
TRACK 02 AUDIO
INDEX 01 03:00:00
TRACK 03 AUDIO
INDEX 01 06:00:00
TRACK 04 AUDIO
INDEX 01 09:00:00
TRACK 05 AUDIO
INDEX 01 12:00:00

and save that as say "Chris Miles - some mix blah blah.cue"
then with nero find the option "burn image" and then select the
cue file and it will burn it with the gaps at the track index's above
without spaces and without you needing to go through the painfull
process of splitting a audio file into lots of small ones.

for audio purposes the TRACK number is the only one that will
increment. the INDEX number will always be 1.
and the time format is in mins:secs:milisecs
If you want to use a .mp3 file it has to say MP3 after the
filename in quotes. if you want to use a .wav you need to
have WAVE after the filename

here is some pics how to do it...

first write the cue file information in nogtepad.

http://www.chrismiles.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/cue/cue1.gif

then save the notepad file as mymix.cue and put quotes round the
filename to force the file extension as cue otherwise it will save it as
mymix.cue.txt

http://www.chrismiles.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/cue/cue2.gif

then you will have the cue file sitting with your audio file.

http://www.chrismiles.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/cue/cue3.gif

open nero and do the following (other versions of nero have it in
a different menu)

http://www.chrismiles.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/cue/cue4.gif

then select the cuefile to open

http://www.chrismiles.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/cue/cue5.gif

and thats you

Well, if you're using Nero, there's a graphical editor inside it that allows you to add track markers to one long file. Not that the cue file method won't work just as well but it is an alternative for people who don't want to do it that way.

If you have soundforge you can put the markers in there and nero will recognise them. Then split the file at the markers into x number of tracks and remember to make the pause 0 seconds.

Could probably explain that better but Robert Natus at Fusion last night fried my brain somewhat...

Hey guys,

I tried the above cue file routine, and done everything as mentioned and when I go to Nero and burn image and open my cute file, this error comes up:

An error occured while loading the cue sheet file 'C:\Documents and Settings\AceS\My Documents\Mixas.cue'. (Line 3).

What have I done wrong? What does this mean?

Look at your time format.
For instance if you wrote 12:03:75,
Nero will pase this as an error.
Keep the last digits below :66.

Cheers.

post your cue file on here and il see what you have...

also

to the other ways mentioned... the full reason this way is good because
it means you dont need to split your mix up into x seperate audio
files. why goto the bother?

I only did a little 10 min mix to try the cue file thiny and this is what I got:

FILE "Mixas.mp3" MP3
TRACK 01 AUDIO
INDEX 01 00.00.00
TRACK 02 AUDIO
INDEX 02 02.23.00
TRACK 03 AUDIO
INDEX 03 04.26.00
TRACK 04 AUDIO
INDEX 04 07.10.00
TRACK 05 AUDIO
INDEX 05 09.13.00

I also did it this way, as I thought the time formats were wrong:

FILE "Mixas1.mp3" MP3
TRACK 01 AUDIO
INDEX 01 00.00.00
TRACK 02 AUDIO
INDEX 02 00.02.23
TRACK 03 AUDIO
INDEX 03 00.04.26
TRACK 04 AUDIO
INDEX 04 00.07.10
TRACK 05 AUDIO
INDEX 05 00.09.13

Both giving me the same error as mentioned.

Milesy

ah theres your problem...
TRACK is the only number that increments. INDEX always stays 1

;)

Robert Natus at Fusion last night fried my brain

Natus - Da man....

You heard that track of his on Audio, think its audio 48 - Pain....

Bad to the bone with a lemony twist of evil....

Milesy

tekboi

Using this time format:

FILE "Mixas.mp3" MP3
TRACK 01 AUDIO
INDEX 01 00.00.00
TRACK 02 AUDIO
INDEX 01 02.23.00
TRACK 03 AUDIO
INDEX 01 04.26.00
TRACK 04 AUDIO
INDEX 01 07.10.00
TRACK 05 AUDIO
INDEX 01 09.13.00

& this time format also:

FILE "Mixas1.mp3" MP3
TRACK 01 AUDIO
INDEX 01 00.00.00
TRACK 02 AUDIO
INDEX 01 00.02.23
TRACK 03 AUDIO
INDEX 01 00.04.26
TRACK 04 AUDIO
INDEX 01 00.07.10
TRACK 05 AUDIO
INDEX 01 00.09.13

???

Barely Human

tekboi

Milesy
26-01-2005, 06:04 PM
cool. some writing software is different when it comes to cue file standards

try this

FILE "Mixas.mp3" MP3
TRACK 01 AUDIO
INDEX 00 00.00.00
TRACK 02 AUDIO
INDEX 00 02.23.00
TRACK 03 AUDIO
INDEX 00 04.26.00
TRACK 04 AUDIO
INDEX 00 07.10.00
TRACK 05 AUDIO
INDEX 00 09.13.00

if not try updating nero

Ritzi Lee

I don't think it will understand if you write
6.00.00 in stead of 6:00:00.

:?:
