Is anyone frustrated with hardstyle at the moment?
To me, it seems like the good releases are coming out in dribs & drabs, and theres more shit out there than ever.
When I first started buying hardstyle, it seemed like there was a lot more hard, dark & nasty stuff being released.
Now its like, its the same old bouncy hardstyle baseline, with a cheesy vocal sample & a cheesy riff. :bash:
Just wondering if anyone else is feeling the same lately?

Check that thread mate. I spoke about this a while back. Nothing has changed... hardstyle has been poor for a while now. I've been buying far more hard trance as there is no hardstyle that's good anymore, except for things that Sam Punk is doing but a lot of people feel that is because its using elements from hard trance.

Ive abandoned hardstyle alltogether...got back into me slow industrial doomcore/hardcore (all u people who are pissed off with the shit hardstyle should go over to www.phuturerave.com and check out labels like Epileptik/Explosive/Enzyme/DNA/Angerfist(artist) for a non cheez hardstyle hardcore experience that could easily fit with all your best hardstyle releases of the past, dont be afraid to mix styles to get a tougher sound:cool: I really am surprised that mark eg or m-zone hasnt crossed this past

The words "Tea" and "leaf" spring to mind ;)
It's so hard to find some decent stuff at the minute.
There's the odd random goodness one here and there but it's getting hard to find the decent shit!
I'm sure this is just a stage though

Having spent the past year and a half in Germany and visiting clubs on the Dutch/German border most weekends you get to experience a lively Hardstyle scene.
The problem here is that clubs are afraid to let the promoters in, for reasons I am unsure of, it seems also that the majority of people in the dance music industry dont even have a clue as to what Hardstylle is, Quote from a leading magazine when trying to place listings up.
"What is Hardstyle? Thats the same as hardcore isnt it?" then our listing ended up under a prog night
I also agree about the tunes but that goes with every other genre of music it has it peaks and dips. all you can do is keep searching, the good tunes are out there, look at some of the lesser known hardstyle DJ's from Italy/Holland and Germany and see if they are producing and see if they have any promo's to air, I have just got a load on CD which are good.

I've found the only hardstyle i've baught since before christmas has been techno-hardstyle crossovers.
I freaking love the stuff not only because it helps me bang some hardstyle tunes and techno tunes together, but because it has a little less boundries.
i've been digging the releases on Detox and Straigt On Black. But even those releases are very few and far between.
Unless a really huge track comes out that's completely different or has something i've never heard before...than I don't see myself buying much more hardstyle anymore. I've got 250 records that i've collected over two years...and that seems to be enough for playing hardstyle gigs.
