IMO, it just sounds very cheap produced and very commercial-oriented...

its not a criterium to say its bad, and agree some people like it, but the people here who dont like marco bailey have the same feeling about his stuff like trance or hard house.

anyways i own some good old records by him ... =)

anyways i own some good old records by him ... =)

how old? remember, he did tracks for bonzai and similar labels 'bout 10 years ago ;) friend of mine once told me he saw him on some old psychedelic/goa cd compilation too..
there was a rave in Zagreb.. I think it was 96.. Marco played on acid/hard house floor..and the music was pretty good, opposed to marusha on the main floor lol..

there were interesting session and pornographic releases, got one by himself right after he released it, but marco's todays production seems to follow the same pattern, he repeats himself.. sure those traxx will move most dancefloors, but I would like some change in sound from time to time.. and it goes not only to him but also lots of others producers..

anyway, if he is satisfied with record sales and response he gets from crowd, who am I to tell him what to do? I'll simply go & look for something more interesting for me..

his production in general is like said above gettin really repetitve and boring...his for the dancefloor tracks inparticular.

well worth checking out his electro album thing he did not so long ago though....some decent more diverse stuff on there.

I really like some of his stuff - I haven't got the new album, but I really liked the remix he did (I think it was his remix but I down own this either)of Latin Loopworks - breaky electroey style.

i heard a rumour about marco bailey, and apparently he does very little actual production in the studio, more comes up with the idea for the tune and gets tom hades & red head to actually turn it into the tune.

I dont know if this is true by the way!!

however ive got to admit i do own a fair few bailey records and some of them are really good, but i agree its all quite similiar stuff

also his dj'n aint up to much

i dont think anyone can knock Marco Bailey, he has made some big club tunes, although everyone says his tunes sound the same, thats because its his style, like many other producers...at the end of the day the guy has done a good job for years and will probably carry on doing so.

That is an excuse for laziness..........

You can have a style without every tune sounding the same.

Whenever I hear his tunes I just think they sound average. Plus, in my opinion, if Fergie rates him so highly then there must be something wrong.

i quite liked his sound about 2/3 years ago, but was just gettin into the tech, and if u listen to a tune from then, and to one he has done now there is little difference.

Not really feeling his stuff atm.

He played in the teknoworld room at antiworld last year - the set he played was real cool breaky electro stlye techno, it really broke the night up from all that 4 X 4 malarkey - me and my mates really enjoyed it ;)

he's obviously got some talent or he wouldnt b where he is today, there is only so far your friends can take u, but i think its the fact that nearly every record he does has that bloody loop in it, u know the one i mean, its in every record he does which makes them all so similiar....

the best thing ive heard from him is his either his recent remix of Carretta or his recent remix of Claude Young on MB Selektions, its actually a very worthy remix indeed and does the job well when played out

I quiet like the new album rudeboy its not just got his trademark style tunes theirs queit a few tunes which are beatless theirs one called xyglass its a breakbeat tune & its very good I,ve always been a fan of marco the one he did recently on intec the b side is a doozy & the tokyo to brussels ep on mbelektroniks is awsome at the end of the day you gotta take your hat of to him he,s stood the test of time with many releases & now he owns his own label which has had many dj,s playing his stuff I would say that their is better producers on the continent like cari lekebusch, chris liebing & umek who I personally think is amazing I guess everyone has their own particular taste & scene I reckon their will be people who are into techno in belguim who look at our dj,s , producer,s & club scene & think the same but I think we have the best scene because its so underground it doe,snt attract chav,s & knobheads who spoil it for the rest of us who LOVE our scene :eh:

I've seen Marco Bailey maybe 30 times in a timespan of 7-8 years. He has produced a few good records and he has played a few good sets as he has played many bad ones to  . But as the years grew, so did his ego.Years ago he was always complaining in interviews that he was only being booked abroad and never here in Belgium. Nowadays he does, so to say, only four exclusive bookings a year over here. What's the f***in difference  He also does a regular appearance on tv in a show about going out. The item he's in is called 'My first mix'. He tries to teach a novice how to mix, but actually does the syncronizing most of the times. You should see it, always good for a laugh.
You've got to admit, he sure is popular. Especially with the kids, as he says.

I respect Marco Bailey, but I don't believe he is pushing boundries like he should be. Alot of his track follow a formula and I think it's time he explored new directions. I heard his album and the only new direction I heard was electro. I want to hear him push the boundaries of techno and this is just not happening... my opinion

I thought the Pornographic he did a while back was pretty good, but I totally agree about his tracks sounding very similar...he was one of the first names I got to know in techno alongside Hades & Skoog...so I respect him because realistically alot of his tracks got me into techno..

perhaps he's already done his job tho? i agree that his tracks of recent are not sounding any different (if not more primitive) than his earlier work but he made some good tracks a few years ago that were cutting it. maybe its someone elses turn to push the boundries. he didnt get where he is today by having no talent at all tho

Respect to Bailey. He does his bit for Techno and he does it well. I brought all his earlier stuff when I first started into techno and loved it. You move on, find more artists, whatever. Although if Bailey can introduce more people to sound of techno then it aint all that bad eh?

I remember the stir in the record store with the UK shipment of the first MB release, sold like hotcakes with heaps of backorders. Similar story with the first Porno release.

I was beside myself when I saw the two schlongs etc. etc. on Porn 1 disc label. Aint seen anything that explicit before or since...

i liked his tunes, but when he was producing more and more it was simply the same shit, i thought "oh this isn't going for any good", but as for now i like to come back sometimes to (which i think is REALLY good) fiesta leblon and meditation ep

and i also heard that hades is doing tracks for him :eh:

Im on the side of the fence that thinks if you make Techno your job is to push things forward so sorry mate I must dissagree the same bongo under a beat with a big club breakdown is not doing your job in techno IMO thats your job if your making other music.
personaly I stopped buying his stuff a long time ago.

Just my opinion like.
