This Thursday sees us go for our first International double header of 2005
in the shape of legendary German producer and DJ, Frank Lorber and a return
visit from Pittsburgh's finest [and only!] techno producer Shawn Rudiman.
Over the last few years EC resident Giles Armstrong has stalked Frank Lorber
around Europe. First he tracked him down to a Cocoon showcase in Barcelona
during Sonar 2002 and then last year he came within a podium dancer of him
at Cocoon in Ibiza. So impressed by his DJing on both occasions we decided
that it was high time we lured the man himself to Dublin for his first
visit. As well as being one of Germany's most in demand DJ's [you name the
club or festival and he has played it] Frank also runs the excellent Nummer
label. Already on its ninth release Nummer's back catalogue includes an
impressive selection of deep driving techno from Sikora, 2 Dollar Egg, Denis
Rusnack, Johannes Heil and Frank himself. Not content with just releasing on
his own label Frank has delivered killer EP's and albums for a whole host of
other equally respected labels such as Cocoon, Delirium Red, Federation of
Drums and Konsequent. Frank has also collaborated on a number of projects
with fellow Frankfurters [Mmm.... Frankfurters] Pascal FEOS, WJ Henze, Toni

Playing before Frank we welcome back Pittsburgh's lone raider Shawn Rudiman.
Shawn arguably played one of the best live sets Electric City has ever heard
back in October last year. His utterly live spontaneous non-laptop show is
one of the best around. With a string of releases to his name on such labels
as Dan Bell's Seventh City, Neuton Music, Technoir Audio and 11th Hour
Recordings, this will be a stunning complement to Mr. Lorber. So make sure
