This track is like 80% analog, and 20% digital.
Drums produced with Jomox Airbase.
Synth and basslines produced with a nordlead.
Overall audio / midi and sequencing with Ableton live 4.

On my systems it sounds really ok.
Tested it on my monitors, and on my headphones....

Hoping for some feedback.

Enjoy.

Nice job bro! This track is actually one of my favourite tracks I have heard this last month! The only thing that's bothering me a 'tiny' bit is the kick. But hey **** that! It's killer! Some heavy detroit influences in here and that synth also kinda reminds me of legowelt (somehow?)

Keep it up! And release this track man, i reckon this is going to be major!

Thanks for the feedbacks. :D

I'm gonna check out the kick though.
And maybe mixing up the claps a bit louder.

Did some minor changes in the mix.
A deeper kick,
and the claps a bit louder.
The hihats are also a bit more sparkling.

Downloadable under the same link.

hmmm, this track sounds ok, i think the strings sound a big thin though, and i think those hi hats are a bit too loud in the mix

Nice. Sounds like you had fun.

The first thing that hits me though, is those kicks. Sounds like they aren`t lined up properly and are blatting.

I think maybe the main synth pad, the really bright one, could do with being a bit warmer and with more depth, maybe double it up and repeat the chord under itself an octave down, as it comes across too abrasive.

It`s a nice experiement in analogue, but it seems to lack warmth overall, so to me, it sounds liek it could have been done on a PC anyway.
It`s also maybe a little simple and sounds very old.
Akthough if this is what you were trying to get, then cool.

I think this works best at about 6:28

2 dirty_bass:

about the kick:
i knew that.. cause i did a couple of layers masking above.
so you get that funny dub effect.
some people like it, some don't... that's a choice.

about the bright synth:
yes that's true... it wasn't even my intention to let it sound really warm... more light / bright and athmospherical.

anyway like you mentioned, it was totally my intention to get that old autentic funk / feeling. :)

I'd filter down those bright synth stabs that kick in at around 1:26 a bit and maybe layer up some more percussion to make it more modern sounding.

Also the track can pretty much stop at the 6:20 mark. It sounds like a another track kicking in.

The mixing is fine however and sounds decent over here.

I'd like to hear a re-worked version :)

Yeah why not.
I'll get on it!!

About filtering down a bit the bright synth is a good tip.
Maybe it'll eventually sound warmer again. ;)
