I had a quick listen, it's ok. I didn't really like your tune selection, and it could have been structured a little better perhaps. Sometimes there is a bit of overkill on the beat juggling too - it sounds good on the first track, but not so good on the second track because you cut off the end of vocals.

By structured what do you mean?

I mean how it is paced. You started with a tune with a a long trancey break, which is not really an ideal way to start a set, especially on a cd. From there you went into Mindcontroller, a really full on track, then if I remember rightly took it back down again with the next track, and further down with the next.

Structuring is something that people often think is not needed with hard trance because it's all so banging. You still need to think about it, it's just a little subtler with this genre. Don't just take my word on the tune selection, others may like it, that's just my personal opinion.

Your actual mixing was fine though, in regards to countering drifts & beat matching, etc. How long have you been mixing for?

Cheers for the feedback, I can see what you mean, but as you say you don't see a lot of structure because hard trance is so full on. Its easier to spot with house music etc.

What I think you are saying is to build the set up. Am I right?

I've been mixing for about 6 months now.

I used to be an MC :D .

If you've been mixing for 6 months then that mix is really good m8, you're definitely on the right tracks.

I'm not saying as a rule you have to build in a set, but just try to get a little more continuity between the tracks.

sorry mate, listened to the first 20mins yesterday listenning again now to the next bit.
for someone whos only been mixing 6 months, this is very good, on the right tracks :D :D :D
i agree with voorheez the ordered of tracks is a bit hit and miss, although some nice tunes ! in a different order this would have been better.
i did notice a few bits go astray but they were more in the blends, then the mixes.
some of the tricks you use isnt normally seen in someone whos been mixing for such a short period, but this just shows ability :D

why u stop mc'ing ?

Still do a bit of Mcing when asked, but I fancied being the other side of the decks. A friend was selling his decks for a bargain price, so I thought I'd give it a whirl. :D

I've Mc'd for Mark a couple of times.
