I got into this whole shenbang back in that day, it was tops at the time. I actually have the Tartan Techno CD as well! I'd still love to see QFX and Ultrasonic live, I was too young to ever make it out to an event with them back in the day but they still gig about in Edinburgh sometimes though I think they've probably gone to shit now and I'd be missing out on their classic hey days of stuff like Anihilating rhythm.

With one of the top clubs promoting the sound called Nosebled you know the kind of hassle you can get dissing us fools for our taste in music.

the whole 'tartan techno' thing was a little bit cheesey in my eyes at the time, but artists like ultrasonic i was good friends with and they certainly were very serious about what they did. there's nowt wrong with trying to do something different and tartan techno was essenstially hard techno with happy hardcore influences in my eyes. tartan techno was a fun thing, that really was never gonna hold up musically but served it's purpose. respect to tom wislon (RIP) for trying something different. respect to scotland for believing in something fresh.

as for nosebleed, i never once classed this as tartan techno. this was techno and gabba through and through!! a wicked event that will go donw in history as one of scotlands best ever events!!!!!

Glasgow actually does massive Events called Back To The Future which is held in the Carling Academy in Glasgow.

They regulary have Ultrasonic, QFX and all that brigade playing and do you want to know the silly thing.

Every month the 2500+ capacity venue sells out without fail

Crazy stuff
