Hey everyone, as the thread topic suggests I'm looking for a good MAC compression VST to use in cubase.

MAC stuff is hard to come by illegally so price will be a factor, but if anyone has any suggestions I'm all ears.

:)

Geez it looks good dunnit...

Fundage probs though. at 400 US for the bundle, it equates to about 650-700 AUD (yes I'm an aussie)..... and to afford that I'll have to wait a loooooooong time.....

the waves renaissance compressor is pretty good from memory, but i have to admit it's been a few years since i've used it... i'm a big advocate of hardware compression these days...

thanks Machina. I'll be looking at hardware compression when I've paid off my laptop, until then I need to get by as best I can....

I'm thanking the lord right now.... a friend gave me a stack of native intruments this week, including waves, spektral Delay, Absynth, Reaktor and Battery.

I could cry.

is there a reason you're looking for VST in particular, as opposed to AU?

By AU you mean analogue? Forgive my ignorance, I've just never heard of AU before.....

By AU you mean analogue? Forgive my ignorance, I've just never heard of AU before.....no AU is audio instrument. so rather than plugging in to a program it can act as a stand alone piece of kit if you get what i mean

sorry, audio unit, not audio instrument

erm, no.

Audio Units are mac platform plug-ins. they are analogous to VST and can be instruments or efx. but they are plug-ins either way, for OS X only.

Gotcha. Thanks g, will look into AU's to see the difference and/or benefit.

osxaudio.com

there's tons of free AU plugs/instruments out there, just like there are free VSTs.
