Just out of curiosity, what's your rarest and/or most expensive record, and more to the point, how rare/expenive is it? Even if it's a promo or something, that's rare now, but won't be forever, I'd be interested to hear...

Talking more about techno, but either way's interesting I suppose! I know, funny to see it says I joined on 3rd December last year - 4 months ago!

strange how a record can be worth loads in one country and not in another

isn't it "whitney joins the jamms" by the now known as KLF?

the one that got them sued by the queen of england for sampling one of her speeches in there? thus they formed the kopyright liberation front inorder to pay the million plus pound fine. good luck ever finding a copy of that record.

Now that's what I'm talking about, haha, nice to see some numbers, does anyone have any never-to-be-released type records, and I don't mean cos the producer can't find someone to release it! Some interesting stuff though, I suppose you can get records much cheaper if you shop around, there's a video game shop in Liverpool that sells some games for £100-£200 and I wouldn't have said they were even that rare, sure you could get them much cheaper.

I haven't come across any record shops selling the sort of stuff I'd look at for all that much money though.

Blackout Audio 1 would have to have some significant value?

I have a rare one off copy myself. One morning back home from a party I was severely intoxicated on GHB, I had just placed this on the platter I was gettin right into it. On G I get this real weird vertigo feeling where as I feel I'm about to fall backwards when I'm physically not, so I corrected this motion by instinctively jerking forwards. It was at this point that my right arm gouged a groove from start to finish with the styli on the McCormack Remix, with my left I flung a cup off coffee over about 20 eps. Gutted bad.

I've got pretty much all the KLF/jams/timelords 12's - think a few of them go for quite a bit... for the aussies out there - got loads of rare tism 12's too, they go for heaps here, doubt they would be worth anything outside australia.

well i doubt if anyone makes a good tune and then doesnt release it just for selfish reasons.
but i have got the odd one or 2 tracks kicking around that i'm playing from cd right now.

i guess bootlegs can be 2 dangerous /naughty to release sometimes though.

Well ok, but what about really limited/underground stuff, a bit like when stuff gets released on white label first to create a buzz, but instead use the buzz to promote the artist, rather than the record and only ever give the record a limted release or whatever.

I mean I know some records never get released, and I think it's really cool, shows they're not in it for the money, but the love of the music. I'm not talking just making a copy for themselves necessarily, but never giving it a full release, or just making 10 copies at most, somewhere in that region...

Was wondering how common that sort of thing is though.

some of marc acardipanes early records are very rare. it is unknown how much some of them would sell for as no1 would ever sell them.

just cos it sells for loads of ebay/gemm doesnt mean it is that rare.#

loads of kids buy over priced records with daddys money.
