Well yet again it's two CD's - one electro and one techno.

On Resist Records this time not React, but the logo looks the same so I pressume it's the same company.

Have to say, the techno CD is really great stuff until the second half and then it really doesnt say too much that Clarke hasn't already said. The first half is well worth checking for sure. The electro CD was a big let down. Until track 4 it's the best thing you've ever heard, then it's let down so badly by a bunch a mediocre tracks IMO.

Very interested in other ppl's opinions on this. Clarke, is viewed as a big name in our field eh so we need to be talking about this one. ;)

Hmmm, it`s ok.
That`s about all I can say about it really.
It`s interesting that it`s entirely mixed on technics CD decks.
You just can`t tell.
But it`s just another techno mix in my ears, nothing special in any way other than it shows that CD is a viable medium.

I`m not sure what to think about Clarke any more.
I think he`s most definitely not living up to the hype anymore, but he does wholeheartedly support the music and the scene, so I guess I can`t fault him.

actually i meant track 6 on the electro album, after chris mccormacks track it just seems to loose point and direction.

for sure, clarke is devoted to techno, would just like to see an ability to use a few different genres of techno, just like his early magnetic north stuff (alot of the techno is the us chicago influenced hard shit aka bam bam) but perhaps i'm just an old school head eh.

no this is a good album, i'm not saying this as in 'i hate it', i'm saying it to say what i think in a constructive way of course. good album, but not GREAT. and techno really needs great albums at the mo...

I`d like to hear a proper album, rather than a mix.
A full journey of techno covering all sorts of ground.

Even if it did have to be a mix, it would be great if it actually went somewhere. There's nothing more boring than listening to a mix thats meant to be played at a club/party (unless its really good).

There's so much techno influenced music around that it shouldn't be THAT hard to blend choice tracks into a well balanced cd or two that progresses through the different styles. And theres so many quality tracks that cheesy ones wouldn't even need to be included as fillers.

i couldn't even begin to imagine the amount of times my friends and I have been out on a big night then on the drive home we crank up DC's world service cd's in the car and just get totally into it.

From the track selection to the general sound of the cd, i just love it. It's my fav cd of all time next to Iron Maiden's 'Live after Death' double cassette pack! CAN'T ****IN WAIT!!!!! :)

Indeed, but that would mean going over the heads of lots of Clarke's audience though. The tracklisting is ok, perhaps lacking a bit of adventure in parts, but all the booty/ghetto action will definitely get Clarke fans' juices flowing.
