Since there has been alot of discussion about digital media taking over vinyl Id like to know wich you would prefer to use. CDJS or Final Scratch & why. I myself have been looking into one or the other but cant seem to make a solid decision. Would love to hear some opinions!

the new technics cd decks, look pretty good, apparently they feel exactly like vinyl. I am a fan of cdj's but my only criticism is that you have to be very gentle with them, if you put much force into the wheel it push's it too far

I'm looking at Serato seriously. Same idea as FS...

only use wavs or aiffs with final scratch etc. mp3's are shit.

the technic cd decks r ace. the new numarks are also ace.

oldest argument in the new world... but on 90% of the club systems in the world you can't possibly hear the difference between a high bitrate mp3 and a wav.

but yeah, nice thing is that you can play 24/96 files out using a vinyl controller with FS or Serato if you so wish.

from everythying i've read, heard, seen Serato is just a bit more bulletproof than FS

Pioneer is it for me, but the NuMark is an amazing machine as well. If you scratch a lot, go with NuMark. Also the Sampler is very convenient. The Pioneer however has the advantage of an extremely fast drive, reads almost all CDR types and is reliable. And I just like the way the buttons are arranged. I could find them with my eyes closed and it would still feel natural.

has anybody done a side-by-side comparison of the time stretch algorithms of the various digital decks? ie, pitch a track up or down and listen for artifacts.

What's it like to scratch with final scratch or serato? Could u do a hip hop set with one of these?

Ableton Live ... Faderfox controllers or MAven (sasha prototype)
Plus Traktor 2.6 (bug free paleez) and effects units...
