It's not funny at all from my point of view, as we are begining to hover. We have some games in hand though I think.

8 points off drop, 2 games in hand over most teams. We should be ok.

Everton and Chelsea games are going to be tough, we should look to get a result from home games against Palace and Boro (and I mean that with respect as we NEED to win these games) but this season has been so bad and as Souness is so crap, you can't help but worry.

I disagree about Bellamy hes a class player but hes done to much,no big club should tolerate what he has done.It would be bad for the team, they have the talent its just lack of disapline that stops them performing.

They need 2 new top class strikers and a midfield player, they have 20 million to spend.

will he buy the right players though?

i doubt it.

Well thats what you get for having a shit defence.

Hakka

Well thats what you get for having a shit defence.

I know... I know!

Thing is I don't believe defence are totally to blame, a few players in the team don't track back enough to help out or press players for the ball, i.e Robert and Ameobi. Shearer clears corners and gets back, don't see why these players in forward positions don't get back more, Robert in particular.

O'Brien and Steve Carr have had some shockers though. Bramble is starting to get better, against Chelsea he was rock solid.

I dont see all the fuss about Boumsong i think O'brian looks alot more organised then him.

Nah Boumsong is very athetlic and a clever defender, think he will get better and better. O'Brien? when alongside Woodgate he looked pretty good, but he can make some awful challenges sometimes and I've seen some bad mistakes from him this season.

jam
27-04-2005, 03:13 PM
Well everytime ive seen him he looks well dodgy. To be honest i just think
o'brian is a good player maybe because my geordie mate always goes on about him.

everyone has different opinions, football init. Like I say, O'Brien looked really good at times alongside Woodgate last year. But Boumsong and Bramble looked great when playing together (Bramble especially). It takes time for players to settle and get to there best, especially when it comes to making the move to the Premier League standard.

Interesting... Arsenal have thrown away 13 points more than Chelsea thanks to our once dodgy defence, but we're defending pretty well now, 8 or 9 clean sheets on the bounce, reckon we can give them a run for their money next season! In the defence stakes, obviously we'll score more goals and win our title back (assuming they don't throw it away of course).

Jam, I will speak to Geoff and see if we can arrange a trip up to the North East for next season. I've got a few geordie mates and it would be a laugh to meet up before a Newcastle vs Boro game. Be a cunt getting the tickets though!

nah it wont mate,it wasnt full last night and if souness is still in charge(depending on how early in the season it is,coz he'll get the sack next year for sure) so i think it wont be too hard. There was loads of empty seats in the main stand yesterday.

I must admit, every game now I'm a little concerend, very much so since the 4 - 1 loss at home to Fulham. What the hell happened there?

Not to mention the 3 - 0 loss to Villa where the Bowyer and Dyer were dickheads.

But yeah, I'm well up for the travel mate, a few pints before and meet up afterwards and discuss the match, which will be interesting!
