Who finds picture discs awkward to mix with. I dont know about some of you but i sometimes use the grooves on the vinyl to see how many bars there before i mix in/out. On picture discs it is hard to do that.

Just wondering if anyone else has the same problem??

I dont own a single picture disc, and I intend to keep it that way.

Theyre poorly pressed, look pretty tacky and as you said you can't see the grooves, which are very useful to be able to see.

Shouldn't pose to much of a problem, use your ears instead of your eyes

Im not keen on them , altough i do have a couple the prob with the grooves is a bummer for the first few plays until you know the tune

but the thing that i hate most about them is the sound quality

if there is a choice then i def go for a standard vinyl !!!

Thats a fair comment, and the sound quality is poor, but i wouldnt not buy a tune on the sole reason it is on picture disc! If its the best track you have ever heard, are you not going to buy it because of this? I wouldnt miss out on wildstyle generation for this reason!

I didnt like wildstyle.

I would try to find a white label copy of a tune on pic disc or a standard version. 8)

I know, im not sure wether to get another one? The last one cost me a tenner, so that would be 20 quid for one track! But i suppose ill wish i did in a couple months when i cant get hold of it.

Pic discs... they are generally heavier which is cool but often you can't read off the groves where you are on the track and how much is left which I usually do with regular vinyl.

I agree m8. Although u know the tune, its quite easy to forget when u are in record, especially if you are having a mental one and ppl are distracting u.

oh yes... some people (respect to them though) who try to get your attention to ask you something in a club right at when your trying to cue up a track is awful. I don't want to ignore them but I'm busy for that moment in time!! it's also hard to gentle say "please give me a second" in a club when your right next to a loud monitor!

rats to it all.

Know what you mean hakka that happens all the time.
I play in my cousins pub sometimes and when it is packed full of pissed matlows jumpin around the stand somtimes gets knocked and the needle skips, know that is off putting! especially when your half way though a mix..

Voorheez

Just ignore them until the mix is over - they'll understand or just go away.
