I am rushing through my dissertation on "Outline nature of dance music industry and discover how globalize technology changes affect on a local records shop in Plymouth"
I need little bit of help here. Either reply here of PM me if you wish to remain anonymous.
Label Owner - If you can tell me how many copies were pressed for your last three releases, the reasons and way which determined your decisions, statical or logical reasons welcomed.
Artists - I would like to know
1. how were you paid in the last three releases on a outsider's label. Was it by a percentage from units sold or a fixed fee?
2. Was the label owner your personal friend?
3. Did you first Dj then produced or other way round?
4. Did your booking frequency dramatically increase after your first five releases (Five being the norm of releases for an artist to establish themselves)
These data is to demonstrate the market of niche dance music is minicule, it can go on to support my hypothsis of a sense community, and favouritism might withhold progress.
