I am thinking of purchasing one of these either mk1 or mk2. Can anyone educate me on this?

'If using cubase sx with this soundcard, do you get zero latency?' and 'When using lots of plug ins and vsti's how does the 'performance meter' go. e.g. does this soundcard keep performance low?

cheers

hi scott

You wont get zero latency using cubase with this card. you might get a very low latency, but not zero.

As for the VSTi's this is limited by your CPU power, memory, MOBO speed etc etc. Only a soundcard with DSP on board will reduce your overheads.

Cool, i have a carillon audio pc, 2.4ghz processor and 1024mb ram. I want to be able to throw loads of samples in and be able to use as many vsti and insert effects as poss. It runs really good but i want it to be able to cope with more, would it be best for me to upgrade my processor, ram or soundcard. I currently use a delta 1010lt.

the soundcards fine, id go for a combination of a better cpu and more ram

that computer sounds more than fine... you've got over a gig of ram there, u really dont need to waste money on more, and 2.4 ghz processor is fine... id look at some audio tweaks in XP before i shelled out money

i run on half that amount of ram and i run numerous high end VST's, samples, plugins, high end mastering tools etc with not much trouble at all i must say... id recommend taking a look at any cpu saving shortcuts/tweaks in XP and disable any other small programs you have running that ur not using at the same time

im sure there is a website with just XP tweaks on it but for the life of me cant remember its address
