‘Technasia meets underworld for a pint of Guinness.’ This is a recent description by the UK’s BBC Radio of this week’s guests, the Celtec Twinz music.

At only 23 years old, brothers Mark and Richie Thompson have been producing and pushing their own sound for several years, a sound which incorporates and fuses the old traditional percussive instruments of Ireland’s turbulent and tribal past with the forward thinking element of dance music…..techno. Not wanting to involve themselves with over-rating hype, the twins have simply kept making and playing music, a philosophy which has seen them recently sign to UK techno jock, Ade Fenton’s Advanced records. With ‘We Were Kingz’, their massive debut EP due to drop on vinyl, after an outstanding pre-release digital download performance on Richie Hawtin’s and John Acquaviva’s beatport.com, things are getting even more hectic for these young men. Patrick Skoog (Headroom/Sweden), Agent Orange (Gotham Grooves/USA), and Alan Simms (Shine/Ireland), to name a few, have already been given the privilege of remixing Celtec Twinz tunes and equal amounts of remix work has already started to come the twins way. Their name (pronounced Kell-tech) simply explains what they are all about….techno with a ‘Celtic’ feel. On the dance floor expect the same quality as they fuse everything from techy progressive to fat tribal, dark percussive to trippy electro, click tech-house to full on party techno cuts. With more releases already lined up on Advanced and other imprints, big things are happening for these brothers from Ireland!

Tune in, sit back, relax, and enjoy the sounds from Gotham City…….
