Phil Kieran Profile:
After silence that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressable is music" (Aldous Huxley).

Phil Kieran sure isn't silent but he still keeps giving us the music, and rather than engorge it in media hype, he is intent on letting his music speak for itself. Never the type to get pigeonholed, Phil's DJ sets are unique; an eclectic recipe of techno, spiced with pinches of breakbeat and electro. Using this open-minded approach Phil has been obsessively creating his across-the-board style of dance music since his teenage years.

He landed a residency at, now infamous club, Shine, in Belfast at the tender age of 19 and over the nine years since has provided a backbone for the legendary club. Phil finally won acceptance to the DJ fraternity, International recognition and recruited a loyal following with the release of his anthem tune hou..hou..hou..house nation (officially known as Vitalian House).

A barrage of Phil Kieran releases ensued, under a variety of labels including Skint, Soma, Kingsize and Yoshitoshi, with some under pseudonyms such as Pil Hearin. Soon, Phil could hardly fight the floods of artists requesting his Midas touch remixing style. Notorious amongst these re-workings are Agoria "L'onzieme Marche", Nitzer Ebb "Murderous" and Justin Robertson "Acid Rave Music" all treated with the unnerving, jagged energy and throbbing basslines that are a feature of everything Phil does. Having travelled extensively with his DJing, Mr Kieran has "been around the world" more times than Lisa Stansfield, recently playing gigs in Indonesia, Brazil, Thailand, Singapore, Ibiza, Greece, Germany, Holland and Spain, regularly playing alongside International heavyweights such as Dave Clarke, Billy Nasty and Christian Smith. To quote another great social commentator "We are the music makers and we are the makers of dreams" (Willie Wonka). Phil Kieran couldn't agree more, this being the time to make his dream become reality. And what is this dream? Only an escape from the musical cleptomania epodemic in today's dance music scene; an invention of a new genre of electronic music using guitar and vocal based sounds; and of course, total world domination.

Having locked himself in the deepest depths of a smoke laden studio for the last year, with only vocalist Martin, front-man of post-punk band Corrigan for company; the coupling has produced a manic body of works. The tracks sound symptomatic of the perversion of the human psyche that only such severe levels of isolation can inflict. This musical mayhem will be the basis of Phil's first album; the first release "Alloy Mental Body Blue Print" already causing chaos in clubland, its completely new sound always causing confusion and curiosity amongst clubbers. Recent comments from the dancefloor have been "what was that punk tune you played earlier?" or "What was that mental tune 'fire, fire' it sounded really different and original ". Whatever the reaction, it has always been exciting and encouraging. So, the future looks bright for Phil Kieran, he is one music maker who's dreams will more than likely come true.
