Part & parcel of the modern game or something that should be stamped out :?:

It's quite an issue with the fans i sit with week-in week-out & seems to be coming into the game a lot more, well that's one view i've heard, another is that shirt pulling has been going on since day 1 & something that will never change or be changed.

What do you guy's think ?

Nobody up for a serious football debate ?

I think you lot are more interested in banter rather than talking about acctual football stuff which i find really frustrating

Banters all good fun & is a great way to liven things up but most of you know more about football than that, come on

disapointed.

in all seriousness though shirt pulling has been going on for years there isnt much you can do about it, it's all down to the ref.

That's it, yet anopther gray area in the law. Some ref's will penalise you whilst others won't

(taken from the Independent)

Football has had plenty of famous cheats, including Diego Maradona and his "Hand of God" goal against England in the 1986 World Cup and Chile's Roberto Rojas, who cut himself with a razor blade and successfully got a World Cup qualifier against Brazil abandoned in 1989.

In recent times diving and shirt-pulling have become so commonplace that they have almost become an accepted part of the game, as Frank Clark, vice-chairman of the League Managers' Association, admitted.

"Diving is much more widespread than it used to be," he said. "That's developed as the laws of the game have changed. The game has been cleaned up to some extent, but that has meant that it's now more difficult for players to tackle. Human nature being what it is people find other ways of stopping opponents. I think shirt-pulling has come in partly as a compensation for not being able to tackle."

They seem to think it's cheating. I've certainly felt cheated in the past, one example was when i player of ours had got into the box & was having his shirt pulled (quiet clearly from me point of view) but because he refused to go down the ref never gave a pen, i'm sure he would of if the player would have gone to ground.

I think shirt-pulling isn't that bad an issue, as long as ther ref awards a free kick against the offending players team then it's cool. Obviously a yellow card would have to be awarded if the same player did it again...

Diving is more of a disgrace and needs to be stamped out of the game. Cristiano has p**sed me off a few times by going to ground easy...

And ofcourse Gerrard took a dive for Liverpools third against Milan...

And yeah Rooney's guilty of diving too...

Check the footage...

If a Milan player had done the same then there would have beeen an outcry...

even if he did any player would do it if he could get away with it, i dont think gerrard did though.
