Would love to hear peoples opinions on this track I have done. This is my first post on this site, wish i'd found it earlier!
Thanks in advance,
Jon

Sounds like you've used reason.
Nice sound mate you might wanna put a bit of something over the top after the breakdown, it seems a bit empty to me.
Otherwise good keep it up.

Thanks for the comments NFP, i'll take a look at that bit after the breakdown.
I used Cubase, Halion and my Access Virus Rack. Have heard good things about Reason, worth getting?
Cheers again mate.
Jon
Which version of Cubase I actually use SX and reason, I only use reason for small projects its a good program by all means but there will always be a soft spot for Cubase.
I use vanguard fm7 and a lot of others including halion for fx on voices.

I'm using the older version VST 5.1. I actually made the track a couple of years ago, needs reworking really.
I use z3ta+ soft synth too. Have you tried Albino 2? I've heard good things about this synth
Yeah i've got 5 but SX is definitely the step to go forward you have rewire and lots more stuff on it.
Can't say I have used any of those two.

hya mate, welcome to the forum.
just gave your file a listen
its sounding a bit over compressed to me, the kick is lost every so often and things sound a bit flat at the moment.
the actual track sounds decent though just needs work with the mixdown to clean it up somewhat, get it a bit more balanced and get the synths working together.
its just a personal opinion this but i think that the main lead synth sounds a bit too clubby to me, by that i mean it just makes me think of the more commercial dance music if you get me.
youve got a nice sequence there and the other sounds seem ok, i just dont think that main lead fits with them and maybe something a bit more gentle or a bit less 'special D' sounding might do it more justice, an entirely personal opinion though.

Hi EmotionComplex.
Think you're spot on with your comments about my track. Pretty much everything you mentioned are the same qualms I have with it.
I made the track 3 years ago, and have learnt a lot since. I can now see the problems with it, funny how your ears kinda 'learn' the more you do!
Thanks for your constructive criticism, really valuable.

took a listen !
seems to be some compression issues
the kick is softer on 2 and 4
the synth that comes in at about 125 soudns a little too dry
Synth sounds in the breakdown sound nice
good work overall man!

Cheers starfuger,
Yeah agree, the synth that comes in sounds dry - a bit dull really. Thanks for your comments mate.
