Well I've posted this in the techno forum Re: The future of music, and I thought it would be great to have this on here too!

So do this little experiment:

Shut your eyes. Now look into the future.

Now tell me EXACTLY what you're hearing.

Ah more tech influnced Tough trance... with many of the tunes having technoboy stlye kicks, a pacey marco v kinda percussion. No more high pitched synths and the tunes bein a tad faster.

I'm seeing everyone united through music, be it techno, trance, or hardstyle.
A mutual respect for eachothers opinions and feelings, after all that is the way ....
I also invison a decent club opening up down here in the southwest, one to match the quality of the sacred and now legendary Country Club ...

Maybe Im fantasising eh Mark?

i'm waiting for the new label that is replacing the defuct bonzai!.........being one of the greatist labels in trance history!!

i really hope they don't disappoint (i dont think they will)

also with the huge fascination in hardstyle i think that ppl are slightly forgetting hardtrance and it will come back and sink its dentures in ones' buttocks.

Hardtrance as it is fizzling out and going more commercial and the more techy/hardstyle going back to the underground (I cant wait!

Hard Trance is NOT fizzling out.... :x

I didnt say that... I said hard trance as it is.. It gets played everywhere and is gettin more commercial every minute, hence the growing popularity of hardstyle in underground clubs.
hard trance will always be around, but the style around at the moment is going to 'fizzle out'.

things must move on - the moment things stay the same is the moment it all becomes boring...

I would too but it becomes increasingly hard to find tunes that are hard enough.

DJ Corbzy

nah im not into harder trance mate...nor hardstyle...

it's all about the melody, not the kick and bass

I have to step in here and say that I would never go with the flow and start listening to hardstyle purely because hardtrance is getting more commercial.
No way.Trance does somthing for me that hardstyle just cant touch upon, and wether it becomes commercial or not, its still better in my eyes.

Long live trance 8)

Im not saying that!
What I mean is the sound is getting more commercial, the production and sounds are more commercial so to find a 'hard trance' tune it's harder and harder.

i can't see hardtrance going commercial again, not for a long while anyway!
however i do think that it is being slightly overshadowed by hardstyle. i think that this is good though, i gives hardtrance a chance to recouperate!

i would love for it to go in a very techy direction, the last couple of releases i've had on gas have benn far more techy than usual..

'I didnt say that... I said hard trance as it is.. It gets played everywhere and is gettin more commercial every minute, hence the growing popularity of hardstyle in underground clubs.'

Read what you wrote there again, and then read what I replied with.

Makes sense to me :D

I meant hardstyle is growing 'cos lots of the hard trance tunes are just toooo cheesy!

Hard trance will always be around. And it will out last hardstyle without a doubt. PPL will get bored of hardstyle pretty quickly, but there are so many different forms of trance that there will always be trance.

The germans always come good in the end

I think the scene will be flooded with good technical level of producers over the next 2 years. Many, many, many tracks will be released by a whole house of dutch, italian, UK and german prodcuers and because so much will be comming out we will be spoilt for choice on what to buy or play. As there will be so much comming out the scene will go flat as ideas run out and the same samples are used to death.

Top quality pioneering tracks will be far and few apart. The general standard of tracks will be better than it is today but will start to become very hard to be original and a lot will sound the same. After 2 years of this I reckon about 2005/6 music will start to become more about how they make you feel or what they mean... to generate feeling and purporse to the listener.

The music will become deeper, and far more clever. They will be atmospheric and suttily have meaning to the listener. The sound will be much more than just programming of samples, it will be far more emotional and feeling based on all levels not just uplifting or euphoric. I think they will be longer tracks and more based on flow of music than be about build ups, breaks and baselines. The instruments wont change but a new way of thinking will spurn a new subgenre or way of producing. This will then peak around 2008ish until the cycle of starts again around 2010 and a new sound is sought after or thought of.

I could be massively wrong or I could be just being biased in how I want it to go... who knows... but it will be fun finding out. I hope. :)

hhmm I shut my eyes and concentrated started to feel a little woozy

and then thought yeah I like hardstyle , yeah I like hard trance, yeah I like club trance , as long as Im not maimed im gonna play em

hopefuly the hardstyle bubble will burst and the cheese technecians will move on to the next "trendy" style of music , leaving the quality producers who r there for the scene they love -

and when it does I will still be playing on :D
