tracks with the sound i can only describe as having a 'basic channel' sound in it. Check any tracks by basic channel i guess or Claro Intelcto. Check Johannes Heil - 20,000 leagues under the skin. Its like a warm atmospheric synth/bass type thing.

well tbh, the main reason i posted it on here is because i dont know how to make the signature sound they use and tbf its mainly used by them and not many others.

Was seeing if anyone knew how to make it :)

i cant believe people on here are actually asking who Basic Channel is... maurizio, Berlin, Tresor, only one of the most important artists to have graced the scene

bit crushing, big verbs, chorus, deep subs, minimal, solid patterns, big grooves

they have an awesome sound no doubt

One of their techniques was to use radio static from analog radios... they use lots of delays as well and basslines that get in ya head!

I also believe the first remix jeff mills did was for maurizio.

C4.5
P1.1

classic tracks that are more progressive than progressive ever was.

I  Basic channel!!!!!!

I'd be willing to bet they used one of these:

I'd recommend checking out Pole (http://www.discogs.com/artist/Pole) as well.

Definately. Just finnished another one a few weeks ago (maybe I should post it up)... I still class it as techno but I know what u mean by the BC vibe. It's that organic ultra minimal dub style way of doing tracks.
Set it up and record it on the fly, in one go while tweaking. Thats what Dub techno is all about.

Ahhh the basic channel sound .... believe me you're on the right track with the Space Echo's but there are a few other pieces of old Roland gear that you might wanna take a look at and not the 303,101 etc.... and one small Yamaha Kybrd that seems to be extremely over looked , sorry I'm not being straight up about what these are, but I believe finding these tools is more then half of the journey

PS - dont be so tight...

whats the point in posting if you dont actually help that much.. and i dont accept your argument about the journey to the tools. (well i do a bit...) itss not about the tools so much but about how you put them to use. and that as they say is a different matter entirely.

delay pro by line six , great tape delay emulation (without all the hiss and crackle and replacing tapes and tape heads )and its half the price .
wouldnt mind an original though.
