i thought this would be a great new thing to do.

ok.. so you're playing a bissmire/bam bam/chicago booty track.

what were you playing before and after it?

and why does it go? and why do you want it to go?

let's get deeper ya techno freakz ;)

Erm...

Anything and, well, anything really.

Though I have found it often sits well with the darker, spacier, bleepier stuff.

Oh, and Dubstep for some reason - but that's just me being weird.

I think there's a lot more variety (and depth) in Jackin' Techno than is immediately obvious.

yep could be anything.. for more minimal into some DJ Hyperactive, for something a bit more out there some subhead / landstrumm, but could go into anything, it's 4/4 techno at the end of the day.

Landstrumm is a good choice.

Anything acid housesque, electro, breaks or other booty before it.

if im playing it in a set i would be expecting to scratch with it on the way out (say the last vocal hit of the booty tune) before dropping stright into something pounding or maybe screaming strings or a breakdown on the incoming tune.

If its being straight mixed then i would usually make sure that im going to drop out on a point like a break, with maybe a fader flick into the poutgoing booty vocal before slamming the fader back into the breakdown (long or short breakdowns work either way)

Is that what you meant mark?

You also have to consider that some of the booty tunes, Deeon stuff etc are really short and this kinda puts a stop to any long winded mixes (thank god)

I think on the last mix I recorded I did this...

... Vex'd (Thunder) --> Bissmire (Move Girl) --> LFO (Butterslut) --> Kamikazi (Turn Me Up) --> Surgeon (La Real B-Side) ...

... and that all worked pretty well.

I had quite a good mix once with a Neil Landstrum & Sugar Experiment Station track into a Bissmire track too.
