Heres a track i started about 2 hours ago, id really apreciate some feedback on it, im monotoring through a pair of headphones at the moment (not exactally ideal) but i have tried my best on the eq side of things.
I feel reluctant to post much of what i write on here due to the quality of a lot of the tracks people are making.
Im pretty new to the serious producing scene, although i have been playing keyboards for most of my life and for the last 2 years usin progz like fruity, and acid as a makeshift multitrack recorder, i have only been using cubase and synths for a relativly short time.
Im building up my equipment over the next couple of months till i have a decent home studio. pair of monitors , second synth, mixer etc
anyway i hope some people like it so far, and any critisim/advice will be welcomed :)

quite like this - the bassline is wicked, really smooth and rolling, yet deep and berthy...
however, i dont really like the synths used (maybe, cos i like things dark and evil...) the tune/melody is good (bit uplifting for me tho..)..
the track has the whole 98 feel to it, was that intended? :D , but it does sound "dated" becuase of that.
i would try diff synths and would deffo carry on with the project mate, has potential.
nice one,
Chaz.

yah, its a sort of a nod to the past really, i loved the whole sound back then but i had not started writing stuff properly.
The bassline is a modified preset patch from the a1 vst synth.
and the advice on the synth leads has been taken onboard, the whole track upto now has been written using vst instruments , im gonna sit down tonight and program a couple of k-station patches, see what i can come up with.
however, i dont really like the synths used (maybe, cos i like things dark and evil...) the tune/melody is good (bit uplifting for me tho..)..
perhaps you are right, i think a lot of the time it is easy to create a uplifting melody because the progression of notes is easy to come up with, so im gonna change the melody slightly and perhaps giveit a darker twist.
right, back to work ill post a newer version of the track as soon as i have it sounding better

Not keen on the bassline mate, or tone it down a biyt and add an offbeat stab in there aswell....nice synths and pads.....maybe add a touch of reverb and a bit more delay on them to padd them out....and the whole drum track needs a good dose of compression, but these things can be tackled at the later stage...
nice tradk man, let me know when you have another sample up here!

I love it mate! Real funky bassline, nice percussion, nice melody, chilled uplifting, I'd like to start a cd with this maybe...

wow, thanx for the feedback guys.very positive :) .
im gonna start redoing it today (saturday) so ill post another file when ive got enough done (probs monday).
i came up with some intersting patches for my k station the other night,so ill see which fit/can be editied to fit into it.
(elyzium) by offbeat stab do you mean like an acid stab similar to Solar Impact - waterworld?
if so how do i go about creating such a stab, would rebirth do it?
Takes me back to the days of B.B.E , i think they kicked me in the ass to get started in real melodic trance !
I could listen to your style tune for hours , relaxing synths with mint melody addictive beatz n bass !
Excellent m8 !
